📣 South Wigston residents - don't forget that your Residents' Forum is taking place this Wednesday 29 October at Fairfield Community Primary School! 🙋 The Forum starts at 7pm, with a Councillor Surgery taking place first at 6.30pm. 👉 The Wigston Residents' Forum will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 12 November at Thythorn Hill Community Centre, also with a Councillor Surgery at 6.30pm.

Our brilliant team have a training day this Wednesday, so our drop in in South Wigston will be cancelled. Our next South Wigston drop in will be on Friday - 10am to 1pm.

Come along to our next Residents' Forums taking place this October and November to have your say on the topics that matter to you! A councillor surgery will take place immediately before the forums in South Wigston and Wigston, starting at 6.30pm on Wednesday 29 October and 6.30pm on Wednesday 12 November. We love our volunteers! Without them we could not do the great work we do. We are looking for some people who can support our reception team across the week. Our office is in South Wigston but we also operate in Oadby and Wigston Magna.

On Thursday @HelpingHandsAdv will be at the Cancer Health & Wellbeing event at the King Power Stadium. Lots of health and wellbeing advice available for a number of organisations.

The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action. The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. The Forum starts at 7pm, with a councillor surgery at 6.30pm. 🙋 The South Wigston Forum will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 23 July at South Wigston Methodist Church. A councillor surgery will also take place before the Forum, at 6.30pm.

Please be aware that Leicestershire County Council's Oadby Recycling and Household Waste site will be closed for around three months from Tuesday 29 July to allow for essential works to be carried out. NEW PARTNERSHIP! We are delighted that @LAMPCharity_ will be at our Sth Wigston offices this Tuesday between 10am & 1pm. This will become a monthly event if demand is there. Lamp are a respected mental health advocacy charity and will be running a drop in service with us.
