Regarding Contenders:
I will go over the list of grievances that myself and many others in contenders have with how the competition has been run and the decisions made in the last month or so.
1. The 3 week break:
After the round robin stage we had a 3 week break, the reason for this was and I quote "However generally we plan our schedules including breaks in consideration of information we have available to us at time of announcement/planning about season details, content and other event schedules" Tldr they wanted Contenders and OWL to be synced up and I also guess they wanted the new hero Ilari to be show cased during contenders, also for the "Hype" of season 6. The 3 week break is rather annoying for many of us, since we have other responsibilities and it may cause some teams momentum to be thrown off, however this issue regarding the break is a minimal one and can be looked past.
2. Playing on a new patch:
However this 3 week break was rather pointless for many teams, as the patch came out a week and a half before playoffs, meaning teams only had a week and a half practice of Ilari and the new changes, many of us saw issue with this as it hurts the competitive integrity of the competition. Teams who found the cheesiest strat quickest could win out. Personally I dont mind having a short amount of time to practice something new, but many teams were annoyed with this.
3. The Banning of Ilari: Today, with 4 days left until playoffs, we were told that due to a quick patch adjusting ilari, that teams would have to unanimously vote on if ilari should be banned for the 1st week of playoffs. Meaning that out of the 8 teams, if 2 teams said to ban her, she would be banned. I dont need to tell you hopefully why this decision seems idiotic but I will just in case. 1st off, we were given a week and half to practice her and the comps that could be played with her, and 90% of the teams in NA and EU were doing this, not only is it unfair to throw yet another tight patch onto us and say we will be playing on it, so we would have to adjust to new ilari, but also the prospect of her being banned all together, meaning that week and half of teams practice was for nothing. UNTIL the next week, which makes no sense to me. Why ban her for a week only to let her be played next week. This completely ruins the competitive integrity, a phrase that I have known for a long time means nothing to who ever is making these decisions. As of now we have been told she will be banned on EU , I know that most of the NA teams voted to keep her, and 1 or 2 EU teams voted to ban her. We were told that the reason for this ban was, and I quote "All decisions around balance, patching, administration, etc consider a multitude of factors and priorities and dev bandwidth are made with several stakeholders in mind, and sometimes there will be moments where a sudden change has to be made When those changes happen, the goal when it comes to competition is to try to level the playing field as much as possible and give each team equal opportunity/chance to prepare for that change. In this case. All teams will have the same amount of time to adjust to the new balance change patches"
They state that this ban is to "level the playing field as much as possible" but it does the reverse. This will give an advantage to the teams who have not been playing Ilari ( and from scrims I know of only 2 EU teams that dont, probs the teams that voted to ban her xD). Its obvious that this should be put to a majority vote to give the most represntation, but I think this is too much effort for the admins, they just want to see a NO or all YES and their job is done.
I dont understand this 1 week ban, what is the point in banning the hero for only 1 week of playoffs, either ban it for all of playoffs or dont ban it at all, it literally makes 0 sense in my mind, all it does it give an advantage to teams that were not playing her for the first week, and waste all the others limited practice time during the week and half we were given for playoffs because of the admins WANTING us to play on the patch with Ilari, just to have her banned anyway. Its a joke and the admins in the contenders discord have been dodging and vaugley answering our questions about why this decision, and all the others for that matter, have been made.
Conclusion: The past month we have been subjected to frankly, mind numblingly stupid decisions one after the other. From the 3 week break , to playing on a new patch with a new hero 1 week before playoffs. To then during that week be told that she will actually be banned for the first week via an unanimous vote. I wanted to get these grievances out to the public. Earlier this year, the admin team at blizzard held a meeting with all players about the future for P2P, where they made many promises to try and improve the t2 scene, taking in player feedback etc. Yet it seems obvious to me, that was just to save face with us, and their words meant nothing. This is much more of an issue than last years Contenders strike, and I implore other contenders teams to come together and try to hold the people making these decisions accountable, by partaking in another strike. If they want to ruin the competitive integrity, why should we partake in their farcical tournament.

(ps. if you are a contenders player/manager/coach whatever pls reply with your own issues or exp with the admins, ive missed out on a lot and I think its important people see just how insanely stupidly this is being handled)
