I had a lot of fun researching and writing this, the bulk of the work being done during my study leave last Autumn. It will be up on SSRN for a couple of months, so if you do take a peek at this I'd love to hear what you made of it (drop me an email, come say hi elsewhere).

Like the MLR article, although written in the register of international courts and tribunal (because that is my 'thing'), there is much in this that is of general relevance to legal institutions, domestic or international.
