That was enough. 1 page. 2 pages. 10 minutes became 20, became “wait, what chapter am I on?” Her notes sat there, abandoned like a group project partner. Across the library, Lena was in her usual habitat: armchair, composed, unbothered. The library was her sanctuary. No noise. No eyes. Just her and her thoughts. In her hands? The Catcher in the Rye. They both went back to reading. Or pretending to. Every few minutes, one of them would glance up. Sometimes they’d catch each other again. A silent game. No rules. No winner. Jus something forming. Fast forward to game week. Miu, in full cheer uniform, was in the dressing room stretching, counting steps in her head, trying not to trip over her own existence later. The door opened. Lena enters. In complete drum major uniform, baton in hand. Aura intact. She walked over. But with words.” Lena smiled, a little too fond for someone who just met her in a library over shared literature. “That’s cute.” And just like that, the noisy dressing room blurred into background static. “LINE UP!” coach yelled. Fast forward again. Game done. Cheers complete. Survival achieved. Miu was catching her breath when Lena appeared in front of her, holding a small bouquet. Miu blinked. “For me?!” Lena nodded, a little shy but pretending she wasn’t. “Yeah. I thought why not?” Miu leaned in. Squinted. “WAIT.
