Today, I had the pleasure of receiving our very own son, Phyno, an Enugu-born talent who has grown into a global force in music.
As he prepares for his event this Sunday at the International Conference Centre here in Enugu, I am filled with pride. Phyno represents the very best of who we are; resilience, excellence, and creativity that travels far beyond our borders.
Enugu continues to produce some of the finest talents, and we will keep supporting and celebrating our creative industry.
Our artists are not just entertainers; they are ambassadors of our culture and identity on the global stage.
We will always stand with our own.

If you’re visiting or relocating to Enugu for the first time, here's a list of things you should take note of.
PART 1
1. There’s no rush, passengers don’t fight for buses, it’s buses that fight for passengers.
2. There’s time for everything, we sleep and wake up at the appropriate time; don't go looking for where you’ll buy Akara by 5am, because you won’t see. This is not Lagos.
3. If you’re a motorist, you’re more likely to become friends with the Police, FRSC, VIO, but you see MOT? Those ones are devils. Avoid them like the plague.
4. Your stay singleness has nothing on you. You can choose to do genital meet & greet without attachment every day, as long as you stay alone and your house has POP with LED lighting.
5. Okpa is not just a snack, it’s a whole meal. 90% of Enugu residents eat okpa as breakfast every day.
6. YOU CAN’T BE FRIENDS WITH EVERYONE. Enugu does cliques very well. Find a circle that aligns with your interest and roll with them.
7. Enugu people are very receptive and hospitable until you start getting too close. They’ll disappear on you. They don’t like too much closeness if you’re not in their circle.
8. We shop at Ogbete market, which has almost anything you need but it’s not cheap.
9. Enugu passengers love window seat, front seat or second row seat. Back seats are not meant for them. They are ready to forfeit a bus seat because of the seat position.
Should we do part 2?
10. We bargain with conductors.

Yesterday, I visited the Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centre in Ogbaku, Awgu LGA, as part of our quarterly engagement with our people.
Listening directly to community stakeholders, health workers, and patients reinforces why we must stay focused on building systems that truly serve Ndi Enugu.
From their feedback, access to quality, functional healthcare is no longer a promise; it is becoming a lived reality.
The testimonies from Ogbaku were encouraging, showing that our investments in primary healthcare are already making a real difference, especially for women, children, and the elderly.
We are ensuring these facilities are fully functional, equipped with solar power, running water, staff quarters, and electronic medical records. To strengthen service delivery, we have approved the recruitment of 2,250 health workers to guarantee round-the-clock care.
Beyond healthcare, our ongoing road projects spanning over 55 kilometres across Awgu are improving connectivity and easing long-standing challenges.
Our goal is to ensure no woman dies during childbirth and that every citizen has access to quality healthcare. We will not relent until we achieve zero preventable deaths.
I thank the good people of Awgu for their support as we continue building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Enugu State.
Tomorrow is here.

Children from Enugu Smart Schools will be participating in 2027 South East Maths Olympiad.
This will be the first public test of the state’s investment in basic education.
I do hope they don’t disappoint.
IMO, Anambra, Ebonyi and Abia should prepare their children in government schools to perform better this time.

There's something about Enugu that instantly makes you feel warm and relax , something that make you feel at home.
You'll notice this in movies made in enugu, the music, pictures and most importantly the people. Everything about the city feels like something pulled out of a novel
