Workers were cleaning and putting the finishing stages on Dragon Field this afternoon. There will be a walk-through tomorrow, and practice begins on Monday. Let the 2021 season begin.

FOOTBALL: Ste. Genevieve Middle School football camp (for seventh- and eighth-graders) will run from July 12-22 at Dragon Field. Sessions will take place from 6-8 p.m. those days.

BASEBALL: The American Legion Junior Tournament is taking place all this week at Yanks Field, with the championship set for Friday night. Our Post No. 150 juniors suffered an 11-1 setback on Wednesday evening, losing to the older Festus Reds 17s.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL: Carter Klump and Drew Bauman both pitched as Ste. Genevieve Senior Post No. 150 defeated Cape Girardeau, 7-5, at Yanks Field on Friday evening. The Junior team also played at home Friday, trouncing Cape Girardeau, 14-2.

TO INFORM, AND NOT TO ALARM: The Mississippi River continues to be above flood stage according to data gleaned from the reporting station at Chester, Ill., the closest NOAA data point to Ste. Genevieve. The area remains under a flood warning, the National Weather Service said.
