@drewlevin I dodged multilpe games when I saw graves, Nasus, Smolder, Kayle, Lee sin etc support in Swiftplay. Then I picked yuumi adc and people dodged. Vicious cycle if you do not improve adc gaming experience from champ select.

26.11 Full Patch Preview!
The major changes this patch are to the Systems mentioned yesterday to adjust the relative balance of Ranged vs Melee supports in bot lane.
There are also some changes to Statikk Shiv to make it slightly more attractive on AD users and a nerf to Hexplate for Ranged which are primarily being picked up on Varus and Vayne Top Lane.
We're not looking to remove it from them, but are looking to get it into a spot where its top end balance doesn't need to be maintained around those 2 champions.
We're also restoring some of the power we removed from Heartsteel a while ago as it lost some of its fantasy and power in a way that we think we can restore now. It will also incidentally help some of the Tank Supports in niche cases when they start snowballing
Deathfire Touch
- We're adjusting Deathfire Touch this patch to deal Magic Damage
- Part of the impetus for this is how strong the synergy is with Black Cleaver and in addition, it feels like more of a magic coded effect
- So we think this strikes a reasonable balance of fantasy fulfilment and practical balance considerations
- Otherwise, we think Deathfire Touch is in a pretty reasonable spot
Brand, Smolder
- Brand Botlane and Smolder have both benefitted from Deathfire Touch
- While we are making changes to the Deathfire Touch interaction that will affect Smolder, we still think he will be too strong after these changes
- The changes to Smolder are targeted at also making his squishy Crit builds more optimal so he is more assailable later in the game
Heimerdinger
- After the minion changes in the previous patch, Heimer's turrets are a bit worse for wear
- We're giving him a feelsgood QOL change so that his turrets aren't killed by ranged minions without being able to attack back
- Despite being 550 range on paper, 550 range champions (which are most of them) will still be able to outrange turrets at max range due to the way this range is calculated
- In addition, there is a small increase to the E vision duration so that the Beam actually manages to fire before losing vision in some cases
Teemo
- For Teemo, he is one of the more powerful Top laners, while also being on the higher end of frustration
- He is also receiving a small buff to Statikk Shiv this patch and so we're compensation nerfing him with an intent for this to be lightly power down
Quinn
- Quinn has landed in a pretty weak spot for Jungle and in this state, it's pretty close to griefing team when picked
- So we're giving it a pretty sizeable buff to give it a legitimate shot at being powerful and viable
- Players so far have expressed interest in playing it!

Patch 26.11 Preview!
In 26.11, we're making a few adjustments to the Support ecosystem to improve diversity, especially in terms of melee vs ranged balance.
We're also doing some continued followup to champs after some of the Season 2 changes have been optimized.
AP Xin Zhao has popped out as one of the most striking and fun champs, but his healing is a bit on the high side, especially when he's outhealing some of the champs designed around healing.
That said, we still think healing a bunch is exciting and worth supporting, just not at this magnitude.
Systems
- With the role quests in Season Start, ranged supports have risen to the top of the pecking order
- They're both the best at multiplying ADC's who are strong currently, as well as benefiting the most from being in lane for role quests
- Roaming also pays a higher systemic cost as it puts both yourself behind on quest progress and makes it so your ally ADC can't stack their quest
- Overall, this has been desirable, as we think in 2025, roaming was too high for the most part and especially undercut the satisfaction of players in bot lane wanting to a play a “real laning phase”
- At the same time though, we do want to open up a bit of roaming power on the grub timing after early lane is done and so we're buffing up the reward of grubs just slightly
- We're making a broad set of changes to both improve the desirability of some underpurchased items, as well as more finely tune the purpose of various items in the ecosystem
- Other systems adjustments this patch are changes to Experimental Hexplate that aim to make it shine on both melee and ranged users.
- Currently the best users are champs like Nocturne, Olaf, Vayne, Varus and we think we can strike a better balance on more champions while also making the item tradeoffs more apparent for durability vs damage on Vayne and Varus (mostly manifesting in Top)
- The other systems impacting changes are some adjustments to Diana and Ekko jungle who have been slightly worse for wear there (though Mid is mostly fine)

@RiotPhroxzon It is his passive and kits that are so strong. Basically he gain stacks from enemies engage with W and E to escape. Impossible to win lane against him with this pattern as short range adc and also with no chain cc.

We just pushed a micropatch nerf to Smolder as his power level has continued to rise with more people swapping over to his optimal build.
Next patch we are intending to ship an adjustment to Deathfire Touch interaction with Black Cleaver that will also nerf Smolder and we will remonitor his power level after that.
These changes also attempt a small shift towards Crit over Bruiser builds.
Changes:
Base AD :: 60 >>> 58
Q Dmg :: 60 - 120 (+130% bonus AD) >>> 60 - 100 (+130% bonus AD)
Crit Increase :: 50% (+15% from IE) >>> 75% (+22.5% from IE)
R Dmg :: 200 - 400 (+110% bonus AD) >>> 150 - 350 (+100% bonus AD)

Full Patch Preview 26.10!
Systems
- New from yesterday are small buffs to Doran's Bow and Helm
- Doran's Bow at this tuning is the most efficient starting item, but the tradeoff to all of the others is opening yourself up to dying from ganks and all-ins
- We're also giving a small buff to Doran's Helm as it's predominantly a K'Sante item at this tuning and we think it can be broadened to more users
- In 26.11, we intend to make a change to Cleaver and its interaction stacking with Deathfire Touch to give it an internal cooldown
- These changes were too risky to do on this patch however
- Lich Bane changes are aimed at providing more differentiation to Dusk and Dawn on the Movespeed and Burst Damage aspect, however we don't think we can go much higher than these values
- Cyclosword is looking a little strong and so we're giving it a nerf
- At the same time, we think after these changes it will still be a bit on the stronger side, but we want to give it a bit more time to stabilize and we can discover the shape of the optimized patterns and what users come out
Zed and Naafiri
- We have to talk about Zed and Naafiri if talking about Cyclosword
- As 2 of the AD Assassins with a functional poke pattern, these champs were always going to benefit from Cyclosword's new passive in the same way that if there was no AD Sheen item and we added one, it would be disproportionately powerful on those users
- We're taking care not to overly nerf these two champions, but they're also too strong with Cyclosword
- We're giving a small nerf to both champions, but they will still likely be strong after the nerfs as it seems reasonably likely that we'll need to adjust Cyclosword in the future as its true balance state becomes more known (and we don't want to Riot special these champions)
Ambessa
- Last patch, the R changes, which we think are good for the champ long term, ended up being a pretty moderate sized nerf
- We're restoring a bunch of power back to her now that we know the power level more clearly
- We're opting not to restore power in any of her mobility capabilities and instead increasing the throughput of each ability cast
Anivia
- These changes are targeted at nerfing Anivia in non-mid roles, especially Top lane where her trading patterns are a bit more oppressive to play against
Lee Sin
- This patch features some modernization changes to Lee Sin to help him feel more fluid and pull off some fancy plays without giving him more net power
- There are a few feelsbad mechanics adjustments that were added to Lee's kit over 10 years ago (like penalizing ward hops) that don't really make sense in the modern game anymore [I remember getting an interview question about these changes when I was just starting at Riot!]
- These changes are aimed at providing Lee more opportunities for incredible highlight moments and raising his skill ceiling, given that he's been out so long and many players are at the top of his mastery curve
- We'll be keeping an eye on how these changes affect Lane Lee Sin as well

@RiotPhroxzon Why is Jinx having 59% winrate (TOP number 1) on OTP not an indication that jinx is overpowered and need nerfs? Especially she has even higher winrate > 60% before. Is this game fair or favors on Jinx?

Patch 26.8 Preview
We have a small patch as we aren't looking to change a bunch of things with 26.9 (Season 2) coming out soon.
26.9 has quite a few systems changes in it and so we expect those to have rippling effects on what champions are strong and weak.
There are also a few champions that have been having larger scope changes to them that we're looking to release on 26.9 as well, but weren't quite ready for prime time on 26.8
Fantasy Facing Changes
- A lot of the direction of our changes in the near future are aimed at emphasizing the unique strengths/strategic differentiators of champions, even if it will cost some aspect of the champion being flat in winrate across skill levels
- In many ways, a champion that has lost resonance with a core portion of their user base, even if they can sit at a higher power level may represent a downgrade in experience for players of that champion
- Expect the buffs this patch to translate more of the power budget into the area of the champions that are unique to them and we want to be moving the power of the roster like this over time
Yuumi Bugs
- We recently discovered a Yuumi bug where her ultimate was healing her attached ally each time it heals another ally
- While the number of times you're hitting multiple people with ult are rare, it is a significant nerf to the healing in the best case
- We're fixing this bug and compensating the ultimate (and other sources of healing)
Mel
- Mel's buffs in 26.5 ended up being a bit over magnitude, so we're pulling some of that back
- While we think after these changes Mel will be in a balanced state, that is different to whether she is in a state that is sometimes too frustrating for players
- We're continuing to evaluate whether making further changes to her is going to be able to adequately resolve "play against" while also remaining resonant and accessible for her Arcane audience
- We've been testing a few things, but nothing to share just yet
Dr Mundo
- Mundo consistently rates at the top of our frustration surveys and he's been overperforming especially in average play jungle
- We're tapping down some of that late game damage so that when he's popping off, he can still go where he pleases, but he's going to solo killing champions a bit less while doing so
More on the other champs later when the changes are more locked in

Patch Preview 26.6!
Overall
- Overall, the game is looking pretty healthy in terms of balance and broad satisfaction
- Over the coming patches, we're going to be looking at some of the champs that have felt a bit unloved/worse for wear and would love to hear your suggestions (both champions and systems)
Systems
- Chempunk Chainsword has been one of the weaker Grievous items for a while. While we don't want Grievous items to become too commonplace, as it subtly degrades champion kits when too common, it is still just a bit weak for even that purpose
- The support item minion penalty has been a pain point for support users and with role quests, the risk of funneling (why it was there in the first place) has been reduced pretty significantly, so we're removing that drawback
Shen
- Shen Jungle has really started to take off recently, which is really awesome to see! (thanks xPetu!)
- That said, he is a tad strong, especially in lower levels of play
Zaahen
- We're really happy to see Zaahen picking up a sizeable audience in both Top and Jungle, but now that regular players, in addition to experienced players are starting to demonstrate that top end mastery performance, he's looking too strong across the board
- Currently, we think his Jungle is a bit stronger than Top, so the nerfs are mostly focused there
Skarner Top focus
- Skarner has been out of the spotlight for a while and since we've tapped down a few of the things that were causing him to be overbearing in Top (especially W max and the E point blank kidnaps), we think he can get a bit more power there
Olaf
- Jungle Olaf has fallen a little behind the pack so we're adding some power back

Azir
- We're buffing Azir to distribute some of his power back into regular play capabilities through scaling power that Azir players hopefully will appreciate
- Phreak is Xerath
Lissandra
- Lissandra hasn't really felt the same since her Q cooldown was nerfed in Season 9
- Times have really changed since then and her perma priority waveclear + aftershock taking days and in the vein of making champions feel better to play, we're seeing if she can sustain having this cooldown again
Olaf JG
- These changes are targeted at Jungle, which has been languishing a bit
- Top is a little bit weak, so he will be getting buffed there a bit too
Sunfire Aegis
- Sunfire's build cost (1000g) has been long cited as a pretty painful experience of the item
- While we think having some painful build paths is valuable for the long term value of League, we think this one is a bit too painful

Ranked
EUW/VN Matchmaking
- We've had about a week and a half now of autofill vs autofill matchmaking being Live and we're seeing excellent results
- In regions like Vietnam with a high autofill rate, we're seeing autofill vs autofill go from ~25% of games to 75% of games
- In EUW, regular play was already good (90% of the time autofill vs autofill), but in high MMR we went from 30% to 85%
- We will continue to roll out to more regions over the coming patches as we're seeing positive results here
Apex LP
- So far, so good on Apex LP fix resolving most of the issues. The fix looks to be good and is holding
- >98% of players should be between 19 and 21 in terms of LP gains, calibrating up and down in small amounts (+19/-21 or +21/-19 or +20/-20)
- We have one small fix coming in 26.6 to make this even more consistent
