@HeroElectrical when you consider they just put price of Andersen charger up thats a bargain! looking at nearly £600 just for the SWA. Based on cable run probably a wealthy person with huge garden.

Quote for a Andersen charger, 78m 10mm SWA, 25m 75m x 75mm galv trunking, new board and RCBOs three men for labour £3600+ VAT. then get called a robbing amongst other words 🤦‍♂️ people.

@SulisElectrical Totally agreed. You could probably interpret at present that schools, etc would need them. I’d rather install knowing full well I could sleep at night. But that’s my own opinion. None of this September bill shit.

@HeroElectrical I think in time you will see AFDDS become required in places like schools, nurseries etc and even stipulated by insurance companies in the small print. I know one landlord who had claim for house fire rejected as they hadnt had it tested/inspected as per policy.

Just quoted a board change and remedials in an hmo. Inc 5 AFDDS, SPD and DP Type A RCBOs, 25mm tails. Materials alone just under £1200 before labour !! When the landlord reads that she is going to pass out. Sure some rogue will quote pocket money and skip afdds etc..

I feel slightly disconcerted. First couple of quotes sent with the dreaded VAT added😳 But if I want to grow and continue to succeed then this gradual path I have to take. Hopefully my clients will continue to use me regardless.
