There was a brief pause, her hand stilling as her head tilted back to look at him. “Don't be ridiculous, Bob. Of course you could. I didn't do much.”

Yelena was about to say something, but his smile forced her to hold her tongue back. She glanced away for a moment, swirling the liquid in the bottle. “I guess they do make a difference.”

“Da, it does.” Her chin rested on the palm of her hand, blue eyes meeting his, a glint of melancholy was visible. “We just didn't deserve one it seems.”
