As we join the world to commemorate World Menstrual Health Day, we took some time to reflect on the milestones we achieved in 2022. In alignment with the 2023 Menstrual Health Hygiene Day theme, we’re also striving to making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030.

The reusable Menstrual care packages received will help keep girls in school, and empower them to create a ripple effect of positive change in their own communities. #EmpoweringMenstruators

Our guest speaker was Mrs. Matambose Cheelo, a midwife and chief nursing officer at Ronald Ross hospital. The theme of our Menstrual Health Essay Award ceremony was ‘Confidently getting to know yourself.’

We are so honored to share that our founder @TashaBSichula is the winner of the Rising Star Award from the longest running Zambian awards ceremony, Mwape Peer Awards in New York USA. She is the first Menstrual Health Hygiene Management champion to win the Rising Star award.

One of the girls Malamasunge worked with said “I never knew that there are people in the world that would care about how I survived during my menses, thank you” Thank you Malamasunge and her service project mentor @c_wanjikumwangi for your noble work in your communities.

Malamasunge also noted that her ambassadorship service project experience had taught her how to take more active steps in her community to ensure that more girls have better and safer experiences during menstruation.

Ambassador Highlight Malamansunge Mulenga is a HERZ Ambassador from Zambia. She carried out her ambassadorship service project at heal transit children’s home in Lusaka. She conducted an interactive menstrual health and mentorship session with 9 girls aged between 13 and 20.
