@AuthorTRobare I get how you feel, but rejections don’t mean you’re not a good writer. Your story still matters, and readers will connect with it. What do you enjoy most about having full control through self-publishing?
English

@Hes_GotGame Because I suck and agents don't love me
English

@AuthorTRobare Haha, that’s hilarious! 😂 But honestly, that reaction just shows how exciting and special the moment was. If you don’t mind me asking, why self-publishing? Most authors usually prefer traditional publishing.
English

@EricWritesGood I get what you mean, the writing community really used to feel more supportive and fun. It’s a little sad seeing how much things have changed.

Does anyone else love a good prologue?

@carolinestowe_ You are welcome! What part of the upcoming release are you most looking forward to, seeing your book in readers’ hands, reviews coming in, or maybe your launch day?
English

@Mithrandr71 I love that! Getting that first author copy must have felt so real, like a dream come true. Have you kept it somewhere special as a reminder of your journey?
English

@Mithrandr71 Congrats on your debut book release! How does it feel to be a published author?
English

@DawnRossAuthor Doing both really gives you the best of both worlds. I also noticed you’ve got a good number of amazing reviews on Amazon, which marketing strategy did you use to achieve that?
English

@DawnRossAuthor Are you currently working on any works in progress (WIPs)?
English

@DawnRossAuthor That’s great! Selling online really helps you reach more readers from different places. Do you also have plans to try out events or book fairs in the future, or do you prefer sticking mainly to online sales?
English

@DawnRossAuthor That’s wonderful! It must feel so rewarding to see people buy and enjoy the books you’ve worked hard on. Nothing beats that direct connection with readers. Do you usually sell more online or in person at events?
English

@DawnRossAuthor That makes a lot of sense. Self-publishing really does give you more control over your books and how you share them with readers. It’s great that you know what works best for you. What part of the self-publishing process do you enjoy the most so far?
English

@Mithrandr71 I can imagine how great it must feel to finally hold your work in your hands. What was the most exciting part of the whole publishing journey for you?
English

@DawnRossAuthor Having it outlined and already more than halfway written puts you in a great spot. It really sounds like you’re moving forward with this one. If you don’t mind me asking, why self-publishing? Most authors usually prefer traditional publishing.
English

@DaSilvawrites Wow, that shows a lot of patience and determination 12 years is no small thing. Spending 8 years on a novel that didn’t fit the market must have been tough, but it also shows how committed you are to your craft. I’m sure you’ll get there.
English

@Hes_GotGame Yes. 4th attempt after 12 years of trying
I spend too much time (8 years) on my last novel that wasn't marketable
After a break, I'll start a new MS, with the aim of having it ready for submission in 4 - 6 months. It will be clearly planned out to save time on nugstiry edits
English

Another productive sesion of editing after spending most of the day with the family
Actioned 20 critiques. Tidied 3 chapters. Added 800 words to push me near the 80k genre min
Back at work tomorrow. But hoping to do similar
Should be in the #querytrenches next week
