Congrats to Coach Roth and the boys team on bringing home another state championship! It's been a privilege to play for you and Coach Richardson and the girls again this year! Super proud of the job the band did the last few weeks too! You backed up what it says on our shirts!

Congratulations to Ethan Dilks and Wesley Hawes on a great performance with the SCKMEA District Jazz Band and to Stephan Nickel and Jocelyn Purvis for a great performance with the MS Honor Band!

The band is done for the night. Between rain and the question about when power will be back on, I decided to turn them loose. They can wait out the rain, but are free to go.

Hesston (3A🏀) was very impressive tonight in their 65-43 girls state quarterfinal victory over Cheney. Kendal Brueggen was incredible tonight with 31 points and is one of the best in the state. Hesston has zero seniors, going to be a very scary team. They advance to the semifinals to take on two-time defending champion Goodland. Congrats to Ethan Dilks on a great performance with the South Central KMEA District Jazz Band. Hesston also had 4 students (Abby, Jocelyn, Cash, and Isaac) in the MS Honor Band.

We had a great weekend!

Really proud of the entire band today. Especially proud of the seniors that received a "1" rating all three years they had State Large Group (lost a year to covid). I don't know how long it's been since we've had a group do that, but it's been a while.

The HHS Band and Jazz Ensemble had a joint concert with McPherson College today. Thanks to Kyle Hopkins for hosting us and everyone that came out for the concert. It was a great experience. The pic below is from our combined jazz piece featuring both schools.
