Roman is coming into this match red-hot after just lifting the trophy at the São Paulo Challenger, so his confidence is at an all-time high. This guy is a pure dirtballer, it’s in his DNA. With over 200 career wins on clay, he knows exactly how to construct points, use the angles, and grind through the tough moments that this surface demands. On the other side of the net, you’ve got Adam Walton, who is a solid player on hard courts but looks like a fish out of water once you put him on the red clay. To put it in perspective, Walton has only played 10 professional matches on this surface in his entire career, and he’s sitting on a losing record. He’s recently fallen out of the Top 100 and has never looked comfortable with the movement or the patience required to succeed on the dirt. When you have a specialist who just won a title going up against a guy who basically avoids this surface whenever possible, you don't overthink it.
