I realised watching E2 that i desperately want to savour the experience of Dexter Resurrection. That doesn’t mean i’ll be taking 3 weeks to finish 10 episodes but i wanna really take in each piece of this series. I’ve got that feeling back.

Now that Daredevil Born Again S2 is over. Matt Murdock’s identity is public and he’s in Prison Do yourself a favor. Go read Bendis/Maleev’s Daredevil run. Followed by Brubaker & Lark’s run. No excuses. Just do it. This is where Daredevil shines more than any other character.

Dexter New Blood | Review “Let me die, so my Son can live.” Man oh man. This was such a joy. This was everything i needed and so much of what i absolutely didn’t expect. Dexter S8 killed me in a way. It made me doubt NB for having to deal with the baggage S8 left. Yet i couldn’t have been more wrong. New Blood is just refreshing. It feels more cinematic from the opening moments. It’s presentation is strikingly different from Dexter and without this sounding like a diss towards the OG series, it’s an huge step forward. It’s music being a specific strong point is simply incredible. The small town dynamic where everyone knows everyone and sees everything is a wildly different environment compared to Miami and that flip is one of the most exciting aspects of this show. The fact that one action Dexter made spiralled into the events of these 10 episodes is the best example of how different it is this time around. Rusty, reckless and unavoidable. That’s the hook. That first Episode was so special. Taking it’s sweet time with Dexter being content with his life. 10 Years without a kill. And as soon as you see Matt the show plays with the viewer cause you just know he’s gonna snap. So the inevitable moment with the Deer’s death. Debra’s words about everything Dexter touches ends up dead. It’s executed to perfection. The show is very delicate with Dexter’s kills and i’m glad. I got a little tired of the Episodic Kills towards the end of S8 and this mixed it up. But i’m ready and hoping Resurrection will take us back to that place. Harrison’s place in this series was surprisingly fantastic. I always knew we’d get to this place when Rita was pregnant in S3, it just made sense. I wanted to see him follow Dexter’s path in whatever way that would be. It definitely took some time to get to where i wanted but E9 especially is magical. That’s the dynamic i wanted and it was incredible. I’m certain there’s more to explore and that’s another thing i just can’t wait to see. I don’t have tons to say about Clancy Brown as The Runaway Killer after everything i’ve already said. But he’s an all time Dexter villain. He’s in that conversation. He’s that good. Clancy in anything is a standout and he feels right at home in Dexter. Horrifying trophy room, incredible presence as a Villain. Just a perfect showcase all around. I really do just love this evolution of Dexter. He’s grown as a person instead of being the same character but older. The Father role. The one who’s mostly void of his past. It’s got some real fantastic depth that they even begun to explore yet. Michael C. Hall has and will never lose his touch. What a legend. Losing Debra Morgan in S8 was horrible because of how she it was handled. That will never change. But in a huge surprise NB brings her back and finally does Jennifer some type of justice. She’s as great as ever, she’s incredible. She’s like the polar opposite of what Harry was for Dexter. There’s no rails to her performance and it shows. One of the most delightful aspects of this rebirth. I have issues with Angela in the final stage. Who felt like she just lost her character. It’s a shame but it doesn’t take away from how much i enjoyed New Blood in it’s entirety. It’s a beautiful ending and yet, it’s not the end. The word on the street for Resurrection is enough to fill me with endless excitement but finally experiencing NB is the cherry on top. Dying to see how Resurrection does it’s own thing while continuing from here. And i’m more than excited to also see What Original Sin has to offer at this point in the character’s world. TLDR: Consistently Incredible. Refreshing. A return in quality. A high point for Dexter. Jen is incredible as is Michael. New Blood was a friendly reminder of why i love this character and how i’ve seen nothing yet.

Bro, thank you so fucking much. I've been looking for the clip since the match ended. Saliba is LITERALLY next to Raya, with little to no pressure from Newcastle. And Raya plays a long ball to the wing and expects Gyokeres, a striker who isn't even good aerially, to run from his central position to the wing to win the header. Madueke isn't even in position, making the long ball all the more puzzling. We CAN build up from the back if we want, the players are just choosing not to. I don't know if it's the fear of mistakes at the back or whatever, but we definitely can play from the back if we want.

Dexter Original Sin So. There’s this show. I wouldn’t say i’ve been dying to watch it but i’m extremely curious, and yeah. i am excited. But i’m gonna take like a week away. I just like to let a finale like THAT really settle in. I also think i wanna watch The Pitt S1… (If you’re not sick of me doing this. i hope you stick around 🫶)

Hope some of this long ass review comes across in a comprehensible manner, if anyone gets the chance to read it. Hopefully it doesn’t read like a recap and rather actually shows how much i loved the show. Let me know. I have premium and i still managed to use up my word limit 😭

Dexter: The Series | Review “It’s already over.” Seriously where do you even start with something like this? With both the experience itself and the experience i’ve gotten to share on here. It’s an unforgettable feeling. From that first episode of S1 i knew this was something special. Before i had any idea i’d gain such a community around this journey. That first episode had me in complete awe at how striking it was in literally every aspect. While theres clear flaws & whole seasons that i didn’t love, Dexter will go down as one of my favourite experiences ever. The heights it manages to reach are unmatched. Life changing stuff and i’m not exaggerating. There’s a formula the show finds immediately and it’s present from beginning to end. Dexter’s need to kill, and using the department to help facilitate that. They act as B stories in between the overarching Villain of the season and it’s some of the effective use of storytelling i’ve seen in a show. Always giving Dexter (& cast) a direction to go while also building the seasonal Villain. Gives the show an identity and gives them so much room to explore weird and complex killers like Dex. There’s 96 episodes so of course they’re not all ones to remember but damn it’s still effective. This show does tension unlike any other. Forever a thrill to watch. Already mentioned them but this cast is so so special. The dynamics and inner workings between them all in each and every episode will forever make me love the show. The one thing i could hold onto when i wasn’t enjoying the story was how consistently great the cast is. Michael C. Hall speaks for himself. His story isn’t over and he’s solidified himself as one of my favourite characters ever. Masterful performance from 8 seasons straight. Jennifer Carpenter is one of one. The real star. The show struggled to give her something meaningful after the Ice Truck Killer story, but as soon as my great man Frank Lundy entered the mix she leveled up and genuinely never ever slowed down. From S4-8 Debra Morgan is the star of Dexter and i’ll never stop saying this. David Zayas as Batista is like the warm part of the show. Always that feel good character. Erik King for short lived time on the show left an unforgettable impact that i’ve felt ever since. He brought such tension and charm to S1 & S2 that seriously made them what they are. So many other characters i love and could highlight. C. S. Lee made me laugh from S1-8 more than i ever imagined. James Remar is another one of those people who made Dexter what it is. An incredible and irreplaceable piece of the team. Going to go over each season in a small paragraph with my final thoughts: S1: Fresh, exciting, visually stunning with an atmosphere i’ve been chasing ever since. Captivating television unlike anything else. With Brian Moser filling that Villain role beautifully. S2: Almost always unpredictable as hell. Lila is a great spanner in the works type character. It’s Erik King’s season and he SHINES. S3: Miguel Fucking Prado. An addictive dynamic between him & Dexter. Slow at times but it’s highs end up as some of the shows best. S4: A beautiful combination of everything that Dexter strives for. A home run in every sense of the word. An ending that is quite literally ingrained into my brain. John Lithgow as The Trinity is one of the ages. S5: Maybe my favourite character work of the entire show. Lumen & Dexter’s dynamic of helping each other rebuild themselves is beautiful. S6: Neat ideas. Some decent character work. But it ultimately didn’t land for me. My first sense of disappointment with Dexter. S7: A return to form. A favourite of mine. Jennifer Carpenter as her finest. Character work as it’s best. Ray Stevenson’s greatness on full display. S8: A season that tries so much and fails to deliver anything of substance. Some neat ideas like S6 but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Only the beginning of something new. But Thank you for reading 🫶🩸
