Following the abandonment of our fixture on Thursday 12th March and subsequent discussions with the BHA, we are grateful to be given the opportunity to stage The BK Racing Hexham Marathon 4m Handicap Chase at our next meeting on Wednesday 25th March. Entries for this meeting open at 8am on Thursday, the current going is Good to Soft, Soft (in places).

It’s fantastic that the North has another flag bearer with Minella Study! It was a huge run to finish 3rd in the Triumph, he looks a Grade 1 winner in waiting. Has there ever been a Grade 1 winner trained in Northumberland? @NicolRacing

Wilful wins the County Hurdle! 🏆 Great to see some Hexham form on show at the Cheltenham Festival.

As a result of @HexhamRaces abandonment, no 4m chase today. The next meeting is 5 and a bumper. The 4m chase around Hexham is unique, invigorating and should be rescheduled for then. The only other 4m chase was abandoned in November. I have spoken to today’s sponsor @bkracing123 and he is happy to sponsor this race. There is precedence with Bangor rescheduling its North Wales National only last month. Make it happen @TByrneBHA . We were devastated to have to abandon racing today but receiving this image really puts things into perspective… This is Sam Lee winning the Heart of All England on Tallow Fair back in 2017. On Friday Sam died suddenly at the age of 27. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
