@TheKeester @wendyp4545 @LehanDan55 Yep, you think it's all a joke ... I replaced an Indian MD in my current position (came here after Canada) ... who was fired for incompetence. These imports are for reducing wages--not because they're inherently much more intelligent and articulate than domestic labor.

@cremieuxrecueil Symptoms sufficiently overlap with accepted COVID complications that there may not have been a clearly distinguishable signal. Fine, some argue αMDA5 resulted directly from virus, but why would it not spike at present too--only then--while SARS-CoV-2 infections continue.

@cremieuxrecueil It's fair to have lingering questions. Strong overlap between timing of vaccines and spikes in αMDA5 autoimmune complications. Pushing of Xeljanz (suppressive of dermatomyositis). Rxs literally surged immediately after clinical trials of mRNA vax began.

@PattyMurray Read the room, a majority don't want ICE to be kneecapped by your tactics. Enough, stop trying to hold other agencies hostage to your inane promotion of mass immigration. We're sick of displacement of the domestic workforce to consolidate C-suite wealth.

In 24 hours, Republicans have blocked FIVE attempts from Democrats to fund TSA, FEMA, our cyber defenses, & Coast Guard while talks continue to rein in ICE & Border Patrol. Republicans are holding TSA agents' paychecks hostage so they can give more $ to ICE, with no reforms.

@zagrebbi I'd argue the biggest issue is inequity of debt, One of the first labs I worked in, which moved to MIT, had an Indian PI. Current boss is Indian. Not racism. But mass importation of scientists/MDs who didn't have to accumulate six-figure education debt isn't a fair career duel.

It's hilarious that it's INDIANS that Groypers have decided to focus on—literally the best-performing statistically meaningful immigrant group. There's no justification for this. It's just racism.

@DanielDiMartino @johnbind2 Really?! Tell me, are countries with high average wages, like Switzerland, more, or less, protectionist of their domestic workforce (than the US)? Do they have policies which prioritize the selection of domestic candidates?

@ReichlinMelnick Who cares about the revenue? It's about replacement of domestic labor with foreign labor willing to work at paltry wages.

@ColumbiaBugle The sciences for a while now ... not exaggerating when I say the grad student population in some labs is literally 70 to 80 percent foreign. Low pay, worked liked slaves. Largely undermined the loyalties of our tech sectors within a single generation ... for profits of the few.

We told whole generations of smart American kids to “learn to code” and get STEM degrees so they could strike it rich in Silicon Valley. Then we flooded their job market with cheap visa labor. And those visa laborers, in turn, hired more visa laborers. So much betrayal.

A CS professor at a mid-tier state university just sent me their internal placement data Fall 2023: 89% of their graduates had offers by graduation. Average starting salary $94k Spring 2024: 71% placement rate. Average dropped to $78k Fall 2024: 43% placement rate. Those who got offers averaged $61k Spring 2025: 31% of graduates employed in software roles six months out This semester? 19% placement rate and falling Faculty meeting last Tuesday got heated when the department chair suggested "pivoting curriculum toward AI collaboration skills" One professor stood up and said "we're teaching students to build the systems that eliminate their own jobs" The career fair last month had 12 companies show up. Half were MLMs and insurance sales Students keep asking why they're learning data structures when the job postings all say "3+ years experience with LLM integration" Professor told me the hardest part is the parent meetings "My daughter took out $140k in loans for this degree and she's working at Starbucks" Meanwhile the university is still running ads promising "94% job placement rates in high-growth tech careers" The disconnect is crushing everyone involved Faculty knows the industry has fundamentally shifted but the marketing department is still selling the 2019 dream These kids mortgaged their futures for careers that evaporated while they were in class

The @Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, is out with a major new research study showing that immigrants, both legal and illegal, contribute significantly more in taxes than they receive in public benefits. And there's more: because immigrants (both legal and not) are such large net-contributors of tax revenue, they also structurally reduce government budget deficits.

@AYoKado_ @kate_p45 Look up how much more protectionist the Nordic countries are wrt to their domestic labor. Not coincidence that they have higher HDIs, wages, and have shifted their immigration policies towards net emigration rather than immigration.

@AYoKado_ @kate_p45 You really think that stagnant wages (sometimes even declining) vis-à-vis mass immigration is a coincidence? The wealthy (donor classes from both parties) use imported labor to extract more profit for themselves. Happening across many industries.

Why is it that so many foreigners own gas stations and liquor stores? Are they being allowed to migrate to the U.S. and be given special loans? 🤔

@AYoKado_ @kate_p45 Oh shut up ... Ph.D.s are considered below us, too, right? Anyone in the sciences has seen a huge shift in demographics over the past couple decades because it means cheap labor for universities and tech ... slave labor desperate for visas/green cards/citizenship.

Because these businesses require long hours worked by owner operators. Native born americans think these jobs are beneath them and don’t have the desire to put the hours in. They all want their sicks days and pto etc. to sum up… They don’t have the work ethic the the foreigners do.

@SenWarren I too have always advocated for the gentle parenting of children who refuse to stop enriching uranium above levels necessary for civilian use ... and who repeatedly refuse to grant full access to IAEA inspectors. They'll grow out of it eventually.

Let's be clear: the U.S. had a deal that could have prevented Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. Trump ripped up that deal. Then he started a war instead of doing the hard work of diplomacy to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

@mtracey Yes, the Biden admin had the files and chose not to release them during the election. What kind of idiot would believe that credible incriminating evidence against Trump wouldn't have been immediately released/leaked? Same idiots that fell for COVID apocalypse propaganda.

@JeromeAdamsMD How can you blame RFK for the similar rises in measles in Canada and the UK around the same time frame? Hope this helps:

Some ask: How can you blame RFK or the current administration for measles cases in people unvaccinated years ago? Fair question on the surface, but the policy failure is clear: Appointing RFK - a longtime vaccine skeptic who led the anti-vax misinformation group Children's Health Defense - as HHS Secretary. His 2019 Samoa visit fueled hesitancy amidst a devastating measles outbreak that killed 83, mostly kids. Now, his policies - like overhauling the CDC childhood immunization schedule to drop routine recommendations for key shots - are eroding broad protection and trust in MMR, and have further undermined confidence and infrastructure amid surging cases (1,136 confirmed in 2026 so far - on pace to shatter records). The first step in any outbreak is rapid, clear messaging urging at-risk people in affected communities to get vaccinated (especially MMR for those eligible). But outbreaks are spreading like wildfire (instead of being stopped) because mistrust was seeded over the past decade -in no small part by our current Secretary- key outbreak response specialists and programs were "DOGE'd," and current leadership isn't aggressively promoting the gold-standard measures we know work: strong vaccination drives, contact tracing, and isolation without mixed signals. These are all current policy decisions. This is about platforming doubt and dismantling response systems when we need them most. Hope this helps! 💉👍🏽
