I love being a generative AI hater

AI VTubers who think it democratizes the medium so anyone can do it will only find out how incredibly hard it is to build a community, & using a slop model will only turn off the bulk of potential members of said communities. Thinking the model is what's holding you back is short-sighted in the extreme - because 99% of the kind of people who will use AI models weren't or won't succeed because they were boring, annoying, derivative, untalented. They have nothing to offer that people can't get from 10,000 other streamers who manage with inexpensive or free models - because those people are doing it for the love of the game, and are clearly willing to make the sacrifices and take on the challenges required to try. It's like AI writing. If the "author" can't even be bothered to write it, why would anyone bother to read it.

The reason people are so militantly anti-ai is because it brutally exposes their lack of impetus. No more excuses... the walls come crashing down. One is forced to face the monster of their own inaction and lack of drive.

The issue that isn’t being talked about enough is the increase in costs for electronics (phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) needed for VTubing due to the gen-AI boom. Just because gen-AI is being (cynically) used in this way to “make VTubing more accessible” doesn’t mean it’s cheaper. If anything, this is contributing to the equipment needed to do it becoming more expensive.

You can't be a vtuber and support AI. Artists are the back bone of the vtubing community. I hope you get blacklisted from collabs.
