There is a perception among some that impaired driving is not a significant problem in Canada. The numbers tell a very different story.
🪪 An average of 9 federal criminal charges and provincial short-term licence suspensions are laid for impaired driving every single hour in Canada.
🚨An average of 206 impaired driving charges and short-term suspensions are laid daily.
🚓 78,480 total impaired driving charges and short-term suspensions are laid annually;
While impaired driving has declined over the years, these statistics show just how prevalent and critical the problem remains.
Beyond those statistics are the innocent victims and survivors of impaired driving. Every year, hundreds of people are killed and thousands are injured in alcohol and/or drug-related crashes.
These senseless deaths and injuries are 100% preventable.

INSANE: British grandmother BEGS people not to go America, after being imprisoned for six weeks -- for committing no crime, and holding a valid visa.
Karen Newton was on the trip of a lifetime. Yellowstone. Old Faithful. A bison beside the car. She had a British passport and a valid tourist visa. No criminal record. No overstays. No charges. “I don’t even have parking tickets,” she said. “I am not a dangerous criminal.”
When she and her husband tried to leave the US for Canada, border officials flagged his expired visa and turned them back. Hers was valid. It did not matter. She was handcuffed, shackled at the wrists, waist and ankles, and locked in a cell.
She slept on the floor under foil blankets. Then she was driven 12 hours overnight to the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma.
She was detained for 42 days -- again, she committed NO CRIME.
But Newton’s reality was six weeks in what she calls a prison. “It’s called a detention facility, but it’s really a prison,” she said. “Locking doors, guards everywhere, cells, everything clamped to the floor.” She slept on the floor for a month because she could not climb to a top bunk. “You only really appreciate your freedom when you’ve had it taken away.”
She believes the pressure to produce detention figures is driving it. “I think it’s Trump insisting they generate figures on how many people they are detaining. I can’t think of any other reason.”
She warned other tourists, “Don’t go – not with Trump in charge. It’s totally out of control over there. There’s no accountability.”
Like and Share if you support telling tourists to stay away from America, until we've made it safe enough for them.

Greenland has a public healthcare system where treatment is free of charge for residents. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred to Queen Ingrid’s Hospital in Nuuk or onward to hospitals in Denmark — without out-of-pocket payment for the treatment itself.
According to the latest published figures, 1,418 patients residing in Greenland were treated in the Capital Region of Denmark in 2024. This demonstrates that an established and well-functioning system for advanced treatment outside Greenland already exists when necessary.
Greenland maintains a close and well-functioning cooperation with Denmark in the field of healthcare.
Trump and the Governor of Louisiana shall not interfere in Greenland’s internal healthcare system — just as Greenland does not interfere in the internal healthcare system of the United States. Period.

One day after Bruce releases the song Streets of Minneapolis, it is now #1 in 19 different countries. Congratulations Bruce, not bad for someone one our President described as a "highly overrated … not a talented guy – just a pushy, obnoxious JERK”.

True story.
My brother-in-law suddenly lost his vision after retiring.
His family doctor had retired and couldn’t see him advised him to go to the ER in Durham Region.
ER ordered a CT scan.
Found a pituitary brain tumor.
Referred him to a surgeon at St. Michael’s in Toronto.
Major brain surgery to remove the tumour. But developed
bacterial meningitis two weeks after. Ended back at St. Mikes for another 2 weeks.
Vision saved. Life saved.
Annual follow-up MRIs. Tumor-free to this day.
Retired. Healthy. With grandchildren.
Cost to him: $0.
He didn’t lose his house. And living his best life.
Universal healthcare in Canada saves lives.

When you are celebrating this holiday season, plan ahead for a safe way home.
Yesterday my daughter should have turned 13...but she's frozen at 2.
Don't do this to another mom.
