Most AI tools today run primarily on cloud servers rather than directly on your device.
When you enter a prompt, it is sent over the internet to these servers, where the model processes it and generates a response before sending it back to you.
@TheARCTERMINAL is building what it calls an Agent Browser, basically a private workspace where an AI agent runs inside your own environment instead of a shared cloud system.
At the center of it is ANIMA, a personal AI agent that can plan tasks, remember context over time, and execute actions across tools like web, files, email, calendar, voice, and camera.
The key idea is control. Your data is encrypted before it leaves your device, and the system is designed so the server doesn’t directly see your prompts or memory. Instead, it works with encrypted inputs and verification proofs.
It also introduces something called attested actions, where every task the agent completes can be signed and verified, creating a traceable record of what was done without exposing the underlying data.
The system is built on three layers: identity (hardware-based keys), memory (encrypted and private), and proof (verifiable execution logs). Together, they aim to make AI usage more private and traceable without relying on traditional cloud trust.
On top of that, ARC supports multiple AI models, open SDK integrations, and tool extensions, meaning users or developers can plug in their own workflows and expand what the agent can do.
