Last week the children were very animated through discussion about fairness and rights. No child should be treated unfairly. #article2

This week's story caused lots of interesting debate amongst children of all ages. The overriding concern though was how to stay safe online! #Article17

The children enjoyed discussing how everyone is different and this should be reflected in the books they read and toys they buy. They were very happy that Heygarth is such an inclusive school! #Article2

This week the children discussed 'influence' and what it meant to them and how important positive influences are on their decisions. Where do these influences come from? #Article13

This week we discussed how important it is for us to look after the World, children and adults. Prizes like this bring awareness to everyone and children have the right to have their voices heard too.#Article12

Last week, our Junior Travel Ambassadors shared a plan, in assembly, aimed at helping young children to walk and be more active/social in a fun and positive way.  This involves our Mini Strider mascot going home with various children to enjoy some active adventures.

This week we discussed why people read and the different genres and types of reading you can do. Most children loved the idea of escapism whilst others liked learning something new. Everyone agreed that it was an important skill and it encouraged us to open our minds. #article29

This week the children discussed the importance of experiencing a variety of celebrations and traditions. This will enable them to make valued decisions later in life as to what is important and meaningful to them individually. #article14

If you're unable to actively travel to school, why not Park & Stride?  It reduces traffic, congestion and road danger around the school gates, whilst allowing children the chance to get active for the last part of their journey.  #StaySafeGetActive

The story sparked a debate about fairness and the intended use of the shoes. However, the children agreed the shoes would promote inclusivity by helping people stay active. #Article23

This week got us thinking about ourselves as global citizens and how our decisions can impact the World. Events like COP 30 highlight global issues and allow children and adults to share their thoughts about global issues. #article13
