@3coltshandicap @OaklawnRacing Im going with Danon Bourbon because he shows the speed to get a good position...is unbeaten and shows the stretch kick to get the job done ..stakes record in last start

I’m sticking with RENEGADE in the Kentucky Derby. Not because he ran at @OaklawnRacing, but because of what he showed there: -Push button -Has a big kick…as soon as the rider asks him to go, he flies. -Will get the distance -Is peaking at the perfect time -I believe he’s versatile in running style CHIEF WALLABEE is my second pick. He’s a super talented horse, but just needs to get a little better, and I think the blinkers could help him get there. INCREDIBOLT third for me: hope the eight weeks between races doesn’t hurt his chances. He likes Churchill and has always seemed like a pretty talented colt. He didn’t beat much at Colonial but sure did it the right way.

@3coltshandicap Thoroughbreds are bred specifically to get horses that can run not to pull a plow. They usually represent a large investment by the owners and most in the industry are well cared for with grooming feeding veterinarian care etc. . Very beautiful animals for sure.

@3coltshandicap A lot of people do not understand the nuances of thoroughbred horse racing. Where does the purse money and other fees such as parking and entry come from to support these horses...THE GAMBLERS. Thoroughbred horses wouldn't even exist if it were not for this sport.

Saying horse racing is not about the gambler is like saying, “Restaurants are about food.” Sure, the food is obviously an integral part of the business-the statement isn’t wrong on the surface-but if no customers show up to eat the food, say goodbye to the restaurant. And restaurants have to always make good food so customers will continue to show up so the business remains afloat. I, admittedly, do not consider myself a hard core horseplayer. I don’t bet daily and don’t bet large quantities. And one of the reasons I got into racing was because I LOVE horses. They’re the most beautiful, majestic, animals…some of the most impressive athletes in the world. And REALLY cool to get to know them and their different personalities. But you still have to look at a business and understand how the wheels of the business keep turning…especially if you want to improve your business.

To be honest, I was expecting close to 25% for each one of these great race callers. They are all truly amazing, but, I still enjoy @3coltshandicap the most, followed by @AnnouncerPete. @larrycollmus , and @TravisStone . Can anyone explain why his % was less than the others?

@3coltshandicap I don't have as much faith in Litmus Test after the Rebel but I do have faith in Potente for various reasons #1 being he cost $2.4 million at a yearling sale vs a 2 year old sale. I did like the way he closed in his last too. I think he will win the SA derby.

@Hi0ctang Potente staying home for the SA Derby. Litmus Test his AR Derby horse this year! It was a bit of a staggerfest in Potente’s race, but the track was deep that day and he looks like he’ll run all day/can definitely improve being so lightly raced. Agree with you: lots of upside!

Unless somebody makes a big splash in the final round of KY Derby preps, we’re looking at a 9-2 post time favorite come the first Saturday in May.
