No non-Old Firm team has won the Scottish Prem in 30 years. Celtic haven't won a knockout tie in Europe since 2004. Rangers became the worst Champions League side ever in 2022. Scotland National Team is a fucking embarassment. Scottish football needs overhauled from the top down

@wots_kraken @bmacfarlane_1 So, 2/3rds of titles have gone to two teams. Another 8 went to two more teams. So just four teams have won all but 3 of the titles for the last 32 years. Out of a 96 team football league. You were saying about competitive?

@wots_kraken @bmacfarlane_1 Ah, we're going down the "only two teams have won the Scottish title" shtick are we? Only two Manchester clubs have won 21 of the last 32 English titles (United 13, City 8) . Then you've got:- Chelsea 5 Arsenal 3 Liverpool, Blackburn, Leicester 1 each Or, 7 out of 96 clubs.

@pieandbov Should've had Shankland and Forrest on from the start last night. Sticking with Plan A for the 3rd game was just beyond me.

The Morning After Knew it was time to step away from twitter last night when I saw a couple tweets seriously blaming the fans for the early exit. LOLZ. I still contend that the group of players we have isn't quite as good as many of our supporters seem to think it is. When you then take key components like Tierney, Hickey and even Dykes out of the system then we really do look very ordinary and predictable. I think the criticism of being too negative, particularly last night, is 100% a valid one though. First half last night Hungary knew we wouldn't hurt them and were quite happy to camp in, let us have the ball and counter. A braver manager at that point would have switched things up, even after just 25-30 mins, to give us a more offensive shape and try and cause the opposition problems when it was clear that it wasn't working. On the manager, to say he's achieved nothing during his time with us is a bit disrespectful IMO. Whilst it's definitely much easier to qualify for the Euros than ever before, the manager has still got us there, twice, against the seedings, and moved us up two levels in the Nations League at the same time. That said, everyone has a lifespan and it certainly looks like there's groundswell support for change and a fresh approach in the dug out. If that comes to pass then Moyes would have to be the front runner IMO, given what he achieved at club level in Europe with West Ham.

@JohnBarnes01 Saw my first tournament 50 years ago in the West Germany World Cup. Lost out then after one win and two draws. Still our best performance at a tournament. Unbeaten, giving World champs Brazil a run for their money too. We were tactically lacking this time round.

Out with a whimper. They talked about making history, they may well have done, as possibly the worst Scotland team at a finals.

@pieandbov Should've started Shankland and Forrest both of whom would've given Hungary problems. Substitutions at the end seemed borne more from desperation than tactical inspiration.

A desperately disappointing night as we exit the tournament against what is, when all said and done, a very average Hungarian side. I guess when it comes down to it, although our boys work our nuts off, we are a very average side ourselves. Penalty shout the big moment, can only assume maybe Armstrong’s pull on the boys shirt came into it but how that isn’t worth a review is absolutely beyond me 🤷‍♂️

@chris_sutton73 Should've started Forrest and Shankland. Tactics too rigid and kitchen sink substitution approach seemed more desperate than astute.

Gutted for Scotland. However I’m not sure why Steve Clarke didn’t use James Forrest when the team struggled to create chances all tournament. Looking at the Armstrong pen claim, Armstrong more interested in trying to get the defender to bundle into him than trying to shoot…

#r4today I don't remember the Tories or other right wing types worrying about supermajorities and a democracy imbalance when Thatcher had a huge majority in the 80s or when Johnson was 80 to the good five years ago. Hypocrites.

@0lPaeans @afneil They have other forms of transport they can use. If you live on a Scottish island, you rely on a ferry! 🤪😜🤪

Well, colour me shocked! The BBC reports yet a further likely delay on these pesky Scottish ferries: A senior manager in charge of the construction of the ferry Glen Sannox has been removed and a further delay to delivery is expected. Programme director Andy Crossan, who was seconded from Scottish government ferries agency CMAL, is no longer working on the project. The Calmac vessel, the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered ferry built in the UK, is due for delivery by 31 July. Glen Sannox and its sister vessel Glen Rosa were originally due six years ago, but have faced repeated delays and spiralling costs. If Glen Sannox does start service this summer it will probably be without its LNG propulsion.
