Not really, I'm saying why intentionally market Christianity as "offensive" alongside this imagery, equating it with "manliness", while there is clearly an ungodly reactionary movement on the right targeting young disaffected men, many who aren't seeking Christ but instead revenge (against feminism but alongside growing antisemitism)? It would make sense if the goal is to fuel that reactionary movement. So that's my point, the marketing of the book seems more like it's going along with reactionary movement rather than trying to present something biblical (which would necessarily be an antidote to feminism anyway because scripture presents accurately what godly masculinity is (and godly femininity) Christians will be offensive to people just by being biblical Christians, we do not need to make it a point to intentionally market ourselves as offensive to people for the sake of presenting ourselves as "more manly" or "based" or whatever else. Truth expressed unapologetically will offend the world, it is not necessary to create stumbling blocks beyond what Christ himself has placed there. I am of course only offering a critique of the marketing and not the content of the book, which I haven't read. The content might be good but based on the marketing and everything I've said it seems like a red flag to me.

@bendellwerry Jason and the Argonauts! My grandfather played this for us when we were kids, as well as the other great films with Harryhausen’s animations. We thought the “man wearing a diaper” was funny. Good times.

@OneTrueZach @CaelanCTH True, that but that team didn’t have the ECF mental block like this team does. We could be playing Philly, and we would have had the same result. It’s getting depressing.

Just a quick reminder: The 2006 Stanley Cup Hurricanes team were down 2-0 against the Canadiens and won the series in six. Lots of hockey left.

Brind'Amour on why the team didn't go on the ice this morning: "That's not what we need. Today we did practice, but you just didn't see it. So there's two different ways to practice. There was no point going on the ice today. It's not what we need."

Tillis voted for a $500,000 per senator fund for senators who were illegally spied on by the Biden. It wasn’t available to any normal Americans whose rights had been violated—just senators. But now Tillis is mad that actual American citizens might receive restitution. What a clown.

🚨#BREAKING: #YourFBI has shut down a call center operation in India that defrauded hundreds of elderly victims here in the U.S. & abroad out of millions of dollars through tech support scams, & two senior executives who operated a business that enabled it, have just admitted to turning a blind eye to this widespread fraud. This comes after an #FBI Boston investigation that has resulted in the arrests & convictions of a former employee of their call routing company, and five India-based telemarketing fraudsters. Our senior citizens deserve honor, respect, and protection, and if you target them, we will do everything we can to bring you to justice. Read more @USAO_RI: ow.ly/a8Uo50Z29WO

@jonharris1989 Jon, I am a member of Northwood and among the most conservative people you will ever meet. You are 100% incorrect in your representation of the church. It is a welcoming environment, not a DEI haven. It contains people of all cultures in a way that feels natural, not forced.

Northwood Church in Keller, TX is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The church appears to lean further left politically than many Southern Baptist churches, expressing support for aspects of the Black Lives Matter narrative on racism and partnering with World Relief in refugee resettlement efforts. Pastor Scott Venable has stated that racism is “everywhere in the fabric of our country” and described confronting it as a “gospel issue.” He also criticized Christians who he says are “screaming about the wrong things” on immigration, instead of helping asylum seekers live in America. Unsurprisingly, Northwood Church employs multiple female pastors and supports women preaching during Sunday worship services. The Bible says no female pastors. The BFM 2000 says no female pastors. But Northwood Church says no.

Massie lost becuase he wouldm't play ball with Trump. No need for an essay. That's all it is.
Sean Davis@seanmdav

Why did Massie lose tonight? Massie went from principled libertarian during COVID, to GOP leadership lapdog under McCarthy, to anti-Trump Epstein obsessive in 2025 after tweeting about that issue a whopping three (3) times in the decade prior. The nail in the coffin for him was voting against OBBB in 2025 because, according to Massie, it did too much to secure the border. Trump mercilessly trashed Massie in 2020–calling him a “disaster” for America and Kentucky and saying he should be thrown out of the GOP entirely—but Massie easily swatted that away and won 81-19, so you can’t say he only lost because of Trump. He went toe-to-toe with Trump on COVID in 2020 and won overwhelmingly. Massie lost because he went from being perceived as a quirky but lovable nerd who seemed to genuinely believe everything he said, to looking like a clout-chasing influencer who cared more about getting TV time with Democrats on an issue he clearly never cared about until five minutes ago than he did about representing his voters. We’ll never know what caused the apparent personality change—maybe it was the death of his wife, maybe it was the McCarthy race followed by McCarthy’s ouster, or maybe it was a desire for notoriety or media acclaim and a lucrative podcasting career outside of Congress—but the drastic change was undeniable, as was the seeming lack of interest in much of anything happening in Kentucky. Blame Trump, blame Israel, blame Epstein, blame the tragic death of a spouse, I don’t care. But you cannot just wave away 2020 Massie going face-to-face with the Trump machine and winning in a rout only to get smoked six years later. Massie’s voters didn’t really change all that much, but he did, and they noticed.

My two cents…. Buffalo is the better team. But, their goaltending is such a crap shoot. Montreal has so many high end offensive players, but defending doesn’t seem as much of a priority. Don’t care which team advances. See you Next Thursday.
