You do understand, @realDonaldTrump, that ‘Denali’—the peak which you so insensitively & without cause ordered once again be named Mount McMcKinley—is the name by which the INDIGENOUS Koyukon people, who inhabit the area around the mountain, have referred to it for centuries, or don’t you?! Let’s be honest here; sports teams (and I am a true sports fan) were NOT given Native American names to honor indigenous heritage! Why not revert to the indigenous, Native American name of the mountain, Denali, to restore the honor that you have taken from the people who have lived on that land more more than 1,000 years and see it as sacred, an embodiment of their ancestors and life itself. This is a travesty. Dr. Hayden has accomplished so much in her role as Librarian of Congress because of her knowledge, experience, insight, intellect, and enthusiasm. Just a quick update—today at noon, I’ll be having surgery to remove a malignant tumor. Thankfully, the outlook is very positive, and no further treatment is needed beyond routine monitoring. I’m incredibly grateful for a wonderful medical team and expect to spend the next few days recovering. God willing, I hope to be back on the road (or in the air!) by next weekend. Exactly! I was appalled, dismayed, & insulted—especially as a 37-year educator—by @realDonaldTrump’s comment—as I was by the response of those on the right. I was disgusted by @VP Vance’s & @SpeakerJohnson’s ‘supportive’ smiles & laughter. The president might as well have said, ‘C’mon, kids—& adults, too: Let’s make fun of others together!’ How very sad for our country.

There’s something pretty distasteful about a President of the United States saying “the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of.” The celebration of ignorance.

Since I’m 12 years beyond my 50th birthday, I would imagine that @berniemoreno would suggest that I absolutely, positively have no interest in or right to care about women’s reproductive rights and our—yes, OUR—gender-specific healthcare. I would like to point out to Mr. Moreno that the need for and right to such healthcare does not expire when women turn 50! @maddow

I’m not stupid; don’t speak to Americans as if we’re ignorant of what you’ve done to ruin America, as you claim @POTUS and @VP have done. Don’t claim that that we’re "not going to have a country" if VP Harris is elected. You claim innocence in the January 6 attack on our nation’s Capitol. I watched your speech; I heard you call for the march to the Capitol—that you were going to join if the Secret Service hadn’t stopped you—and incite that crowd to violence.
