@TheDavidPiv Anecdotally, I sent my letter of intent to start taking the CPA exams in September. I called last week for an update and the woman said “I have never seen this many applications come in during September/October.” Interesting to see that more people are taking the LSAT as well.

This is one of the best indicators of impending economic disaster there is.

Convinced a university to scan Facebooks little red book on a $150k archival scanner The best PDF’s I could find were @amasad’s and a remastered version that were both low quality Reply if you’d like me to send you the link when it’s ready - should be the highest quality publicly available version to ever exist

@ecommerceshares Isn't the common argument that the consumer is spending more because of inflation? You saw Target's numbers this Q, it wasn't the revenue that was down, it was the margin, partly due to the supply chain. Spending more and getting less is the problem.

The excess savings chart below making the rounds is being misinterpreted. The excess savings balance is the area above (or below) the green line. Now, spending the excess savings balance is GOOD for the economy. If people save IN EXCESS of normal, they’re not spending. Get it?

Not sure most investors appreciate how much it will take to eat through the excess savings & healthy balance sheets that the pandemic created for households as a whole. Because people don’t understand flows and balances. The excess savings is a balance. The savings rate a flow.

@GerberKawasaki Interesting critique. When he purchased the house the stock was worth ~$235, putting his net worth around 11B. With that kind of net worth (Which today is around 3B+ according to Forbes) do you really think it wrong to get a nice house? Do you think this purchase cause the drop?

Coinbase has managed their business very poorly. Bad results. The guy buys a $100 mil house and screws his shareholders… $coin

@babybeginner @elonmusk @jack That was my first thought! Maybe @jack would do it but when he left he seemed to be focused on running block. Wouldn’t put it past him though since Twitter was his baby for so long. Simply holding his 2% stake this long showcases he still cares about it!

What I believe to be the next BIG question for twitter is whether @elonmusk will make himself CEO of yet another company or find someone to run it for him after his main objectives are met? E.g. Share the algorithm, etc. If you could pick, who would you chose to run Twitter?

@ChrisBloomstran As sad as it would be for those working there, I believe that there is a high chance of @elonmusk letting go a large portion of the company and building everything back from the ground up. BUT, he’s also proven that he works well with a tight budget so we shall see what he does!

Wow. Financing secured with $25.5 billion of new debt. I haven’t seen the rate but at 5% the interest alone exceeds 2021 EBITDA and 88% of expected 2022 EBITDA. Go private at 9 times sales! Total paid in capital was $9 billion. Better grow fast. The question is: When’s the IPO?

@Nomadalist @ParikPatelCFA A business falling out of favor and losing money is very different. Netflix has a 40% margin, meaning that they are far from losing money anytime soon! Market share may dwindle but negative earnings I believe are in the past, for both companies!

@WinstonSmithMrk @Nomadalist @ParikPatelCFA You’re absolutely right! That’s why Netflix’s market value isn’t worth exactly 4.98 billion because it takes into account future earnings. What I was questioning is if it made sense to value it only at 4-5x when that is pretty low for a tech company.

@JustinSaaS My college entrepreneurship program is ranked the #1 in the nation and we actually go out to high schools and middle schools! We teach them business plan structure, how to pitch, and how to follow their dreams. It’s great!
