@CurnainC @Bazzinho9 I’m not missing the point, I know exactly what your saying and I couldn’t agree more 👌 but still the likes of Giggs is a unique example, he was blessed with a natural ability that few players of any era had.

@HicksRod @Bazzinho9 I think you are missing the point. The pressure on kids today is not right and sets 99% of them to fail at such a young age. Giggs was still playing until he was 40 and enjoyed every minute of it. There's plenty of merit to what he said, and as a coach I couldn't agree anymore.

I have been sent this by - it's safe to say - an understandably very angry parent of a child playing for Larne youth. This coach meant to message other coaches, but accidentally messaged the kids' parents group chat saying there was 2 young kids he wanted to "bin" from the team. I get sports teams can be ruthless for success but at that age??? That's an absolute disgrace. Surely every parent - including parents of kids already at Larne - would be thinking twice about sending their boys and girls to Larne's academy if that's how they get spoken of? Who would want their child to be at risk of being put on a “bin list” ?

@Bazzinho9 It's right across football at youth level in NI. Obviously, I can only go on my own experience and know what happens when they try to create an elite squad of players from circa u12. Giggs said that it should be fun and enjoyable up to 16, and then that's where it becomes serious
