@Listen_Sameer This is more basic then a middle class gamer’s setup. Its the CM’s Office, if its not at-least like this, then I would think you want the CM to work on the side of MA road with a cardboard.

J&K is one of the poorest regions in the country, borrowing more than 50% money from Centre. But Yuvraj of Gupkar’s office setup is the most expensive in the country worth lakhs. An Office he barely uses 2–3 days a month, while the rest is spent in Gulmarg or on foreign trips.

This Eid, our hearts in Budgam carry grief, not celebration. A 12 year old angel was taken from us in unimaginable brutality. While greetings pour in, joy feels impossible. Some wounds silence festivities, leaving only prayers, tears, nd a longing for justice.😔 @Womenactivismjk

In continuation to yesterday’s order by @CM_JnK @OmarAbdullah sb, Minister @sakinaitoo sahiba today announced that all schools in Kashmir and Jammu divisions will remain closed until Friday, with a special holiday on May 29 for Eid-ul-Adha. A formal order in this regard was issued today. This is what truly sets the @JKNC_ government apart. Its respect for the religious sentiments and practices of every community is unparalleled.
Imran Nabi Dar@ImranNDar

Couple of days ago, @BJP4India govt in West Bengal downsized Eid ul Zuha holidays from two days to one. Today @JKNC_ government expanded Eid holidays from two days to three. Credit goes to CM @OmarAbdullah Sb for this. God forbid, if BJP had come to power here also, people would have to rush to their offices with their qurbani baskets in their hands 😄

Petrol prices Cross 100 Rupees/Per litre in J&K, but the National Conference government has no role in regulating fuel prices, right? Wrong! No doubt BJP must take measures to address the concerns raised, but the elected J&K UT Government itself presently has the legal and executive power to provide substantial relief on fuel prices by reducing the Union Territory component of taxation on petrol and diesel. Official J&K Government Notification S.O. 76 dated 27.03.2025, issued under Sections 3 & 3A of the Jammu and Kashmir Motor Spirit and Diesel Oil (Taxation of Sales) Act, clearly shows that the UT Government itself fixes the rates of Motor Spirit Tax (MST), cess and rebates in J&K. (Image 01) The same notification proves that these rates are not fixed by Parliament alone, but are alterable by the UT Government itself through notifications and fiscal decisions. As per official PPAC data of the Government of India from this April itself (Image 02) (Serial No 23) • J&K presently levies: Petrol: 24% MST + ₹2/litre employment cess, subject to rebate adjustments. Meanwhile several other States/UTs levy significantly lower rates: • Delhi: 19.40% VAT • Himachal Pradesh: 17.5% or ₹13.50/L whichever is higher • Gujarat: 13.7% VAT + 4% cess • Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu: 12.75% VAT This clearly establishes that J&K’s UT level tax burden on petrol is objectively higher than multiple other States and Union Territories. The UT Government can realistically provide relief ranging from approximately ₹5 to ₹15 per litre through reductions in MST, cess, or enhanced rebate mechanisms, without waiting for Parliament to amend central excise duties.

Filling a case against Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and Junaid Azim Matto is extremely wrong just for expressing their opinion on Iran. Even I stand with Iran, Ayatollah Syed Ali Hussaini Khamanei hai been Martyred and there is a war and we choose sides thats all. Extremely Wrong!

For me Shaheed Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (RA) was not just a #Shia leader, he was leader of Muslims across globe who died as a great martyr. Everyone is mourning his death & proud of his #Martyrdom Don’t start certifying & sermonising ummah on sectarian lines. Not good time to Play politics, So do that some other time !

I am a Kashmiri Sunni Muslim. On my paternal side, my family believes it descends from a Hindu Ruler-Warrior clan linked to the Governors of Kashmir between the 11th and 13th centuries, which later accepted Islam and ended up giving Kashmir one of its most influential Kashmiri Muslim Sufi scholars. My maternal lineage traces its origins to missionaries who travelled from Baghdad to Kashmir between the 14th and 16th centuries. In our present form, my entire extended family looks, speaks, and lives like any other ordinary contemporary Kashmiri family. As a Sunni Kashmiri Muslim, I stand in solidarity with the people of Iran. I mourn the passing of Iran's Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, while celebrating the fact that he attained Martyrdom at such an advanced age. I do so not because of his position as a religious leader of the Shia community, but because I viewed him as one of the few contemporary leaders willing to openly challenge the imperialist designs of Israel and the United States. I do so because he consistently positioned himself in support of Palestine & Gaza and did whatever little he could for that. I do so because he repeatedly called for Shia–Sunni unity throughout his life, despite resistance from hardliners within his own fold. I do so because his leadership clearly unsettled powerful global actors. I do so because he did every possible thing to ensure that the people of his nation do not become prey for the likes of Epstein. And I do so because he was the only Muslim leader in the world, at this point, that Israel felt the urgent need to eliminate. I do not agree with the position taken by many Sunni-majority governments on this matter. In my view, enabling or remaining silent in the face of aggression, that too against a fellow Muslim nation just cannot be justified. I believe that both Shia and Sunni brothers & sisters must move beyond historical disagreements and refocus on what unites us: Tawheed and Shahadah. A divided Muslim world has only empowered external forces and weakened us collectively. Perhaps it is time to allow our shared foundations of faith, as laid down by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to take precedence over inherited ideological divisions, and to let that unity serve as our defining principle, if we are to survive, if we are to thrive.

@GemsOfJKPC Wrong framing. The 2023 amendment doesn’t bar executive action or fix % it only updates definitions in the J&K Reservation Act (a State Act, not a separate Parliamentary law). S.O.s can’t be kept in abeyance for legal-operational reasons, not because the Act forbids policy change

A UT government can't suspend an act passed by Parliament. That would still require approval by the LG and further vetting by India's Home Ministry. It's not the same as TET, for which the SC has given states/UTs a two year window to implement the policy, hence the abeyance.
Vikas Amin@Vikasamiinn

Today, the NC govt put the SC order to conduct TET for teachers in J&K in abeyance, but when @parawahid demanded the same for NEW RESERVATION policy, which could have solved our issue, he was mocked & both NC-BJP voted against. If the Govt can put the SC order in abeyance, they could have easily put the new RESERVATION POLICY as well restoring OM students rightful share till census isn't completed. But the NC Govt chose to keep the OM students & their families in perpetual pain & frustration by voting against the very resolution to solve RESERVATION ISSUE.

@Casual_Kashmir @GemsOfJKPC Keeping an order “in abeyance” for reservation not possible, old S.O.s can’t operate because the Act itself changed category definitions. Parking S.O. 175/305 wouldn’t restore the old system.A fresh lawful S.O. is required so “interim relief” via abeyance was never a valid option

@GemsOfJKPC The SO was issued by the Social Welfare Dept, which has the authority to keep its implementation on hold within legal bounds. Parliament only handles inclusion in SC/ST lists under Articles 341 & 342; implementation of reservation policy lies with the executive department.

The J&K Govt has decided to keep the order on JKBOSE/SSSA as Teachers Eligibility Test Nodal Agency in Abeyance. This is precisely the same course of action that @parawahid had suggested a few days ago, to keep SO 175 and 305 of the new reservation policy in abeyance. Please take note that the government had the option to adopt this measure to provide interim relief to the unreserved category, but chose not to do so.

MLA Pulwama @parawahid further urged that the House must vote on keeping SO 176 and SO 305 in abeyance. Social Welfare Minister @sakinaitoo, however, intervened, suggesting that the MLA should wait for the “report.” Despite her intervention, the Speaker permitted the vote. The National Conference MLAs, particularly the Social Welfare Minister, appeared to reject the proposal, signalling limited urgency in addressing the reservation issue. The proposal ultimately received just four votes, all cast by PDP MLAs. Two key questions arise here: 1) The Cabinet had already approved the Sub-Committee report and, as per CM @OmarAbdullah, the file has been forwarded for LG’s approval. Which report, then, is the Minister referring to when suggesting that the House and the people should wait for it? 2) How long will the National Conference government remain comfortable with the reservation issue remaining unresolved while academic and employment opportunities continue to elude general category/unreserved candidates?
