Placed under house arrest early morning today after being denied permission to visit Budgam (all my visits are subject to permission by authorities, who are to be informed a day earlier) to offer condolences and share in the grief of the bereaved family who lost their 12 year old girl child in a brutal and shocking incident. It is strange that even a basic humanitarian gesture of expressing sympathy and condolence with the bereaved threatens the rulers and their narrative of “peace and normalcy”.

Couple of days ago, @BJP4India govt in West Bengal downsized Eid ul Zuha holidays from two days to one. Today @JKNC_ government expanded Eid holidays from two days to three. Credit goes to CM @OmarAbdullah Sb for this. God forbid, if BJP had come to power here also, people would have to rush to their offices with their qurbani baskets in their hands 😄

Congratulations! Petrol has crossed ₹100 a litre. Century achieved. Hamare LOP Sahab assam se aye toh pooch lena about this achievement?

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ Bravo @JmuKmrPolice for this. Netanyahu must be happy with you

Today, the NC govt put the SC order to conduct TET for teachers in J&K in abeyance, but when @parawahid demanded the same for NEW RESERVATION policy, which could have solved our issue, he was mocked & both NC-BJP voted against. If the Govt can put the SC order in abeyance, they could have easily put the new RESERVATION POLICY as well restoring OM students rightful share till census isn't completed. But the NC Govt chose to keep the OM students & their families in perpetual pain & frustration by voting against the very resolution to solve RESERVATION ISSUE.

MLA Pulwama @parawahid further urged that the House must vote on keeping SO 176 and SO 305 in abeyance. Social Welfare Minister @sakinaitoo, however, intervened, suggesting that the MLA should wait for the “report.” Despite her intervention, the Speaker permitted the vote. The National Conference MLAs, particularly the Social Welfare Minister, appeared to reject the proposal, signalling limited urgency in addressing the reservation issue. The proposal ultimately received just four votes, all cast by PDP MLAs. Two key questions arise here: 1) The Cabinet had already approved the Sub-Committee report and, as per CM @OmarAbdullah, the file has been forwarded for LG’s approval. Which report, then, is the Minister referring to when suggesting that the House and the people should wait for it? 2) How long will the National Conference government remain comfortable with the reservation issue remaining unresolved while academic and employment opportunities continue to elude general category/unreserved candidates?
