@scott_walton @countcaspargh So, if 5 a day is your number, when motorists drop to 4 a day the legislation that applies to them should be repealed?
English

@archer_rs I suggest you find out how registration marks work.
You probably already know, but the reality doesn't suit.
English

@Lupindodor @smallbreamboy @countcaspargh 1 is not enough for amending legislation to match the 1700, so what number between 1 and 1700 is enough?
3?
12?
472?
Go on, set your level of "enough", a hard number
English

@Lupindodor @smallbreamboy @countcaspargh My focus is saving lives, that does not mean that
A) I cannot also believe in, desire, and work towards dealing with offenders
B) That cycles cannot be fitted with speedometers.
Speed is only one aspect of the many laws that could be modified to apply to cycles.

"I'd been a police officer 10 and a half years and know from training and other incidents - that distance; that [a] subject can close that gap in less than a second, so at that point I thought my life was in danger."

@__theskipper__ @Butterknifeopr8 I know the previous answer was partial jest, but it would certainly be always on when out of the station, Every action, inaction and interaction recorded for my own (hopefully) protection.
English

@davidfhilliard So, how many is enough to warrant legislative change, that as a responsible, considerate, competent cyclist (presumption) won't even affect you anyway.
Go on, put a hard number on it.

6 days since law to prosecute dangerous 🚴🏻♀️ announced.
About 30 people will have been killed on UK roads, none struck by 🚲.
About 500 with, potentially life-changing injuries, nearly all connected to 🚗 🚛
In same time about 1,600 people ......

@Butterknifeopr8 @__theskipper__ If I were job, it would be running constantly now. Even sat at a desk doing paperwork in case somebody accuses me of misspelling something
English

@__theskipper__ Next time someone tries to murder you. Just tell them no, murder is illegal.
If they insist on carrying on. Make them wait for you to turn your BWV on.
English

@PolicemansLot @legalclaret Indeed we do, but, I really hate to say this, sometimes it is not what is done, but what is seen to be done that counts.
We should also consider the core policing aspect of "protect", and in the roads context, that often means protecting idiots from themselves.
English

@staywider @IndieChris71 @smallbreamboy @countcaspargh Action against bad road users resonates with both sides of the divide in my experience
English

@Butterknifeopr8 If you are going that way, then do it properly, beam axle conversion too :)
Sod it, portal axles both ends!

@Bellagiotime Hell no!
Don't restore, just renovate to working roadworthy condition

@FlashForFreedom Considerations for a perfect suit
Can I fit a shoulder holster underneath discreetly
Can I place something in a jacket pocket without the flap remaining inside
Ah, double breasted, sorry, forget it, not for me :)

@VeteranIrish Horse: Damn, baby spice has really let herself go
English

@MilitaryBanter A sorry state of affairs, but congrats on reaching out, and I am glad you got the help needed.
English

Evening mate, so after struggling for nearly a decade and a lot of dark thoughts, I finally reached out to my med centre and got the help I needed (medication and therapy to follow). Just got a call from my boss today that despite being promoted, I'm not being offered an extension of my contract and will essentially be left to time out at 12 years unless I get upgraded again (highly unlikely in the time frame presented). Not really sure what I expected but the RAF loves to harp on about how mental health is at thier forefront yet when you reach out for help you're essentially left hung out to dry. My entire twenties, multiple Ops every year, always gave 100% and now when I need the support, I'm basically told to get fucked. I can almost see it from thier point of view, why would you offer an extension to someone that isn't 100% fit? but it just feels so slimey and backstabbing to essentially be dropped after reaching out for help. If you do post this, please keep anonymous for obvious reasons.

@rorygeo Are they just racist, or institutionally racist?
Enquiring minds want to know

@Clappers2020 @redhairedcop Dunno, but you can bet the supplier is having production problems and they cost £800.85 each. (station level) HQ ones are available for delivery tomorrow and only cost £71.75

@ediz1975 I have long been a firm believer that stupid should hurt
