To all Orthodox dating discourse enjoyers: Look, before anyone calls this gossip, this is not gossip when it serves as a warning to others. I’m not claiming any innocence here, but @katherineortho needs to be put in her place. After actually reading her full Substack article “A Dating Crisis in the Orthodox Church? A Woman’s Perspective,” it’s clear why it’s dangerous for the community. She polled 41 women who rated church dating 4.2/10 and blamed men for poor hygiene, weak social skills, immaturity, orthobro rigidity, porn addiction, ghosting, and preferring younger or foreign women. The whole piece is deflection—she’s extremely rude to men and ghosted another guy across the country on a meetup in Florida. Her real problem has nothing to do with the article and it’s a complete deflection from it being all her fault. Last spring and summer, while I was flat on my back bedridden from a muscle injury, she and I started talking a lot. What began as normal conversation quickly turned into her sending gym pictures that got progressively more revealing, then nudes, while we were talking sexually. I tried to pump the brakes, but when she asked “are you sure” I allowed it and gave in to the temptation she kept pushing. She’s nothing like the pious, traditional woman she claims to be in that piece. It’s straight post-wall feminist hell—pure trash she doesn’t live for a second. The whole thing is a false narrative from a complete hypocrite. Stay the hell away from her. And someone needs to tell her priest it’s time to ban her from the internet.
