She was registered with the no. 50381. She was initially placed in Block 10 of the main camp for sterilization experiments. There, she was recognized by one of the other inmates. Thanks to the efforts of the block leader, a violin was secretly brought to her, which she played in the evenings. Over time, word of her exceptional playing reached the SS guards, as a result of which she was transferred to Auschwitz II-Birkenau and appointed the conductor of the women’s orchestra.
