@DataPlusScience @udiomusic fwiw AI did not 100% generate this song! these are 100% original human lyrics written before udio existed :)
English

TLDR: This is an entirely AI generated song.

Music is having its AI moment. I finally had some time to play with @udiomusic over the weekend, and it's remarkable.
It's still in Beta (so free right now) and it only does 30 second segments, which you can extend multiple times. That gets tricky though, especially when looking for consistency, for example, if you want an intro, consistent verses, a repeating chorus, and an ending. However, you can download anything as an MP3, so it's pretty easy to stitch things together as you like.
I picked one of the better songs on the platform so far. @marysouthworth liked it because "it has a good hook" and @EthanHahnEH liked the lyrics. The song is called Carolina-O created on Udio.com by Hemingway. Various folks tried to extend it, but nothing seemed to work. So I put this together, along with an ending extended by ALS (also on Udio).
Lyrics
[VERSE]
Carolina, five foot five
Bright blue hair and big brown eyes
Sleepin neath the neon signs
Of some old two street town tonight
We don’t need to talk things through
Or you can cry the whole way too
Whatever feels alright to you
Cause you got baggage, I got
room [drop]
[CHORUS]
Singing Carolina oh
It’s a long and winding road
Oo but if you’re ever lonely
You don’t have to ride alone
Sayin Carolina child
You been walkin now for miles
Put your head down on my shoulder
Carolina
Let me drive ya
For a while
[VERSE]
I been down the road before
You seen trouble, I seen more
I burned the bridge, I closed the door
Yeah I been rich and I been poor
So we don’t have to go too fast
Lemme make this highway last
Don’t need time, we don’t need cash
Just let them city lights go past
[CHORUS]
Singing Carolina oh
It’s a long and winding road
Oo but if you’re ever lonely
You don’t have to ride alone
Sayin Carolina child
You been walkin now for miles
Put your head down on my shoulder
Carolina
Let me drive ya
For a while
[ENDING]
Barefoot dreams on dashboard days
Whisper secrets, the rearview gaze
Stars our map, your hand in mine
Kiss the past a sweet goodbye
We laugh, we sing, the memories flow
Letting go's the way we grow

@yetiscribbles One of my favorites and always felt spiritually related to Lyle Lovett's "what Hank Williams is to Neil Armstrong" line
English

These lines live rent-free in my head as the pinnacle of songwriting. Conveys so much with so little.

@JoshuaHedley Grid paper = choose your own line spacing. Most of these lines notebooks are too narrow for my big-ass handwriting or too wide to fit a single dam verse #gridpapergang

Streaming services encourage the most passive listening imaginable. The best way to make money in music is to make innocuous music that doesn't distract people from washing dishes, but also is engaging enough to keep the existential demons at bay. This is why I got a day job.
