@jenhandley That citizen should be jumping for joy for the value that they get for every dollar invested. If you were to work that out per hour not many people put their hand up for that rate of pay. People who get involved in municipal government aren’t doing it for the pay cheque.

Question asked today by “concerned” citizen. “Why are councillors paid? In a town of 2200 people it seems extravagant that the total monthly cost to tax payers is $4800” For context that’s $4800 divided by 6. Councillors are paid $400 every two weeks. Anyone care to weigh in?
