One thing I don't understand about the whole illegal immigrant thing is who benefits? Why the push to bring them in? Someone somewhere is benefitting but idk who, the first order effect seems to be less tax revenue which isn't good, so what's the second order effect I'm missing?

@gammichan Besides, Elon, Bezos and the rest of the 1% are a great advertisement for the phenomenal wealth of American capitalism. Who wouldn’t want to go to America when your home country offers up a choice of conflict or life long poverty.

@gammichan Very much doubt there is a highly coordinated grand plan. Desperate people want to come to America for a better life. When you see the risks migrants take on make shift “boats” to get to Europe, you understand that they will come no matter what.
