🚨 Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program Rollout Restricted to ONLY VAPES Kentucky’s medical cannabis program began sales in December 2025 with dried flower for vaping as the sole product format under the no-smoking law. Only one processor operates statewide as of March 5 limiting edibles, oil vapes, and other formats. Eight dispensaries serve roughly 20,000 patients with no vertical integration allowed between businesses. Licensing lotteries in 2024 awarded 16 cultivator licenses and 10 processor licenses after applications opened in July 2024. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Tennessee Senate Committee Fails to Advance Home-Grow Cannabis Bill The Freedom to Farm Act failed to advance out of the Tennessee Senate. The measure would have permitted adults 21 and older to grow up to 15 plants with no more than five mature at private residences, possess up to 1 pound of dried flower, and pay a three-year $100 registration fee to the Department of Agriculture. Committee Republicans stated reform is needed to tackle medicinal access and the state’s illicit markets but preferred a broader strategy over this home-grow proposal. The bill received a 4-3 committee vote with two Republicans abstaining. The legislation stays alive in the House as House Bill 2479 with a possible subcommittee vote as soon as March 18... What do you think? 🤔

🚨 New Hampshire Senate Refuses Debate on Cannabis Legalization Bill The New Hampshire Senate voted 15-9 to table House Bill 186 without any discussion. The bill would have authorized adults 21 and older to purchase and possess up to 2 ounces of flower, 10 grams of concentrate, or 2,000 milligrams of THC in other products from licensed dispensaries while allowing home cultivation of up to six plants with three mature. The House passed the measure earlier with a 208-135 bipartisan vote. The Senate Judiciary Committee had recommended rejection last month. This marks another year the Republican-controlled Senate has blocked debate on legalization legislation. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Georgia House Passes Bill to Expand Medical Cannabis Program The Georgia House of Representatives passed a substitute to Senate Bill 220 known as the Putting Georgia’s Patients First Act on March 12 with a vote of 138-21. The legislation renames low-THC oil as medical cannabis under state law. It introduces vaping as a delivery method for adults 21 and older in private places while banning smoking or combustion. Qualifying conditions expand by dropping severity requirements for AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Operators Secure Federal Court Injunction Against State A U.S. federal judge issued a temporary injunction on February 26 in favor of At Joy Growing and over 30 other Oklahoma medical marijuana operators. The ruling blocks the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics from revoking outdoor cultivation permits without sufficient reasoning. The judge found the operators are likely to succeed on due process violation claims. The injunction allows At Joy to resume outdoor planting for the 2026 season. The broader lawsuit alleges deliberate shutdown attempts on the state's $600 million medical marijuana industry. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Marijuana Multistate Operators Owe IRS More Than $1.6 Billion in Past-Due 280E Taxes Major cannabis multistate operators owe the IRS more than $1.6 billion in unpaid taxes under Section 280E. This total comes from recent company filings by firms including Trulieve at $630 million, Curaleaf at $531.5 million, Verano at $378.26 million, and Cresco at $171.4 million. The IRS maintains in court filings that these taxes remain due despite marijuana rescheduling efforts. Rescheduling does not provide retroactive relief or alter obligations from when cannabis was Schedule I. Over 40 operators have challenged 280E in tax court without success to date. 🚨 Colorado Sends Bill Allowing Medical Marijuana Use in Hospitals to Governor The Colorado House passed SB 26-007 in a 49-12 vote, permitting terminally ill patients to use medical marijuana in healthcare facilities and allowing facilities to set guidelines for use, storage, and administration. Amendments clarified that facilities are not required to store or dispense cannabis, limited liability for those permitting use, and prohibited the Department of Public Health from mandating compliance for licensing. The bill prevents suspension of policies unless risking federal enforcement. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 California Cannabis Vapes Outsell Flower for Nearly a Year Cannabis vape sales in California surpassed flower in June with $113.3 million spent on vapes versus $110.7 million on flower, maintaining the lead through February 2026 at $110.4 million for vapes and $98.4 million for flower. This reverses 2021 trends where flower outsold vapes nearly 2-to-1, driven by Gen Z consumers allocating 38% of spending to vapes compared to 32.5% on flower. Retailers are adapting assortments in the $4 billion market where pre-rolls, edibles, and concentrates rank next. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Arizona Senate Passes Bill Penalizing Excessive Marijuana Smoke or Odor The Arizona Senate approved SB 1725, which classifies excessive marijuana smoke or odor as a public nuisance if detectable on adjacent property for over 30 minutes once or on three or more days in 30 days, with violations punishable by up to four months in jail and a $750 fine if intentional and substantially interfering with others. Amendments removed most criminal language, required prior complaints and five days' notice, and allowed medical marijuana cards as a mitigating factor, while facilities can suspend policies risking federal action. A companion voter referral resolution failed initially but was reconsidered. What do you think? 🤔

🚨 Ohio Brewers Sue Over Governor's Veto on Hemp THC Beverages Four Ohio brewing companies and a distributor filed a lawsuit in the Ohio Supreme Court challenging Gov. Mike DeWine's line-item veto of a Senate Bill 56 provision that would have allowed hemp-derived beverages with up to 5 milligrams of THC until December 31, 2026. DeWine vetoed the carve-out, citing consumer confusion, conflict with a federal ban, and safety risks from marketing as alcohol substitutes, making such products illegal starting March 20, 2026. The plaintiffs argue the veto unconstitutionally deleted extensive sections, seeking to restore the transition period to avoid criminal enforcement, layoffs, and millions in losses. 🚨 Texas Adopts Amended Hemp Rules with Strict Total THC Limits The Texas Department of State Health Services adopted new hemp rules after receiving over 1,400 public comments, reducing manufacturer licensing fees from $25,000 to $10,000 and retailer fees from $20,000 to $5,000 to improve industry accessibility. The regulations retain total THC testing including THCA, likely making most cannabis flower non-compliant and shifting half the market underground, while adding requirements for product testing, labeling, and record-keeping. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission prohibited on-site hemp consumption at non-alcohol venues without sampling exceptions. What do you think? 🤔
