Why digital collectibles matter. Let's jump in our veve DeLorean and go back in time to the year 1920 the roaring 20s was just about to get started and the biggest forms of entertainment were books and going to the play, to see your favorite show live in person. This was the biggest way people consumed new entertainment. Now, if we hop into the DeLorean again and hit 88mph, we arrive in 1955. Just 35 years later, the biggest form of consumer entertainment was movies and TV. Also, around this time baseball cards and comics were on every kids' wish list and must have's every week for comic reading. The medium had changed in the way people consumed the entertainment but the way they collected had not, still physical pieces of paper and cardboard. Now let's punch in the year 1999 the digital world is just beginning with the birth of the internet a few years prior but collecting is still mostly physical but some digital collecting has begun in the form of online games and music that can be burned to cds. At first glance, this might not fit the definition of collecting but that's because you don't really own those in-game assets or the music you downloaded on Napster 👀 😆 but the spark was lit, so now we are taking one final trip back to the future 2026. The entertainment landscape has changed once again now movies and TV shows are streamed and physical collecting is still going strong but now you have the ability to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in the digital form through your phone/tablet, smart tv, computer, and Vr headset but also collect them in that very same medium. The change happened a few years prior with smart contracts that give a person the ability to buy an item in the digital world and have true ownership through the contract that states you are the owner and this is all the information related to that item, the provenance is the big unlock for collecting. The digital items are now given a key feature that had not existed in this way before. Just as the consumption of entertainment changed in the 1920s to the 1950s, I believe the way people collect will also begin to change and we are seeing it every day with companies like veve and candy plus many more that have been building and offering a new way to experience your collection. I don't think digital will overtake the physical anytime soon but it gives people another way to enjoy the hobby and the ip they love. The physical will always be my first love in collecting but digital has become a very big part of my collecting journey now. The great part is I don't have to choose, I can enjoy both and experience my comics and collectibles in very different ways, that enhance the experience and not ditract from it, hopefully more people will give it a shot and maybe find a new way to collect in the 21st century 🖖 💚 #veve #vevefam

@tadtweets could we please get clarification on how Metaplex Core works with edition numbers? 🙏 Many of us paid a premium for specific numbers - but according to the below they may not be supported ‘on-chain’. ‘Off-chain’ would harm the long-term collectibility of our numbers

@jmo22966085 I use these all the time for my clones, transplanting, cleaning and random projects. When my local hydro store went out of business they were selling all their brands boxes for $4 I grabbed a stack 🤷‍♂️ definitely useful

As a grower and a mechanic i go through about two boxes of these a month, can never seem to keep enough around…what’s you’r usage and fav brand, i find these to be the best for both jobs, i have to use em as my hands are usually dirty from dirt oil or some other hand staining element, or are you a hand model type? Let me know in the comments curious how you all feel about this subject…

Ok everyone this is just my opinion. We are so far down the trust thermocline. @tadtweets has a lot of work to get out of it. I personally want a Batman, DC comic experience different than before. I also want a completed product before I put a cent into the project.

@PetroGPhoto I’ve been watching since day one ☝️They lost their chance at that some time ago but yes there’s always a chance for an “upset” in this case it would be Candy surviving this transition but it’s unlikely. It would be better if DC pulled the IP license from these guys & shut it down

@High_Visionary Like anything I always hope that visionaries will arise that might have an interest in creating an experience that adds to the joy of collecting comics in the real world. I like to keep an eye on it and have learned a lot from the first go around.

Involved that know the most basic things about DC comics. That is just me. I know others want more and other things. It is all I talked about before and was ignored and berated for my opinion! You want people like me and my friends and their liquidity you better change!
