Art Patron Program: I'm pleased to announce the start of a 3-month patron program with the following artists: • @adhd143 • @_crisrosa_ • @JakeAndrewArt • @TheFallenSol Details (3 of the 4 artists): • Upfront payment to each artist (funds have already been transferred) • I will receive 1 piece of art per month over 3 months. • Payment based on recent 1/1 sales prices. • Artists will retain full creative control. I will gladly serve as an advisor if they wish but these are not commissioned pieces--I want these artists to do exactly what they have been doing...create amazing art! ==== @TheFallenSol and I will be working on something slightly different. Ryland expressed an interest in exploring a new series of physical works. I will be funding the expenses related to this new series. Details will be ironed out in an upcoming call together. ==== Inspiration: • Historical art patron agreements and contributions look very different from the sales & auction-oriented method of collecting art within Web3. • Throughout history art patrons provided financial sponsorship, upfront salaries, funded projects and paid for materials. • An example within Web3 also served as an inspiration. Artist @BilndArt created a small Patron program at the start of 2023. This model has been on my mind ever since. Why & Goals: • To provide a degree of forward financial visibility during a time of slow auction and direct sales. • To experiment with an alternative model to collect art and invest in an artist's creative journey within Web3. What's Next? • These 4 artists continue creating. • I will document & share the art created/collected during this program. • I plan to repeat a similar program/model with a second cohort of artists soon. • I plan to explore other methods of being a patron of the arts. This is by no means the only way to do so. Fellow collectors--I am happy to discuss this model with you if you are interested.
