My Thoughts. The next billion users won’t join Web3 for decentralization. They’ll join because it works better than what they already use. Simplicity wins. Every time. Let’s be honest — most people don’t wake up in the morning thinking about “self-custody,” “modular rollups,” or “ZK-proofs.” They just want their apps to work. Fast. Seamlessly. Without friction. When we say “onboard the next billion,” it’s not about convincing people that decentralization is morally superior — it’s about delivering a better experience. The truth? Users don’t care if your protocol is the most decentralized. They care if they can sign in easily, pay instantly, and get value immediately. Web2 didn’t win because it was centralized. It won because it was simple, familiar, and human. Web3 will win when it feels invisible — when people use it without realizing they’re using it. So as builders, maybe the goal isn’t to “educate” users about decentralization… Maybe the goal is to build tools so intuitive that they don’t need to understand it. That’s how the next billion joins.
