There is a Belief that Modern Air Warfare is all about taking Initiative to have an Air Superiority over the Adversary and over a period of time with Induction of Long Range Air and Missile Defence systems the Focus has been on to Form a Strong Air Superiority package and Surface to Air Long range Air and Missile Defense systems to impose a Complete ‘Air Denial’ anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) by employing Capabilities such as the systems, such as integrated Air and Missile Defenses, Drones and Autonomous Weapons, and Long-Range missiles. The Focus in the Strategy of ‘Air Denial’ Remains on not letting the Adversary gain any type of Air Superiority in the Initial phase of Operations. >> Over a Period of time the Integration of Space Based capabilities with Air Warfare will be crucial in Conceptualising the Futuristic Air Superiority and Air Dominance Operations Construct. At the same time Niche Capabilities like Drones and Loitering Munitions won’t just be a Force Multiplier but necessity in Fighting Long Wars and Conducting Campaigns. >> Remember 5th Gen Fighter Jets are a potent Capability but they aren’t Invisible as projected by a Few. Even the Adversaries will be cautious while employing the 5th Gen Capabilities due to various reasons. Address your own Systems to have a Capable TTP (Tactics Techniques and Procedures) against the Envisaged threats. The Rafale is Combat Proven having 4.5++ Gen Capabilities and has demonstrated it’s Combat Capabilities not once but on several occasions be it in India or World over but can’t say the Same for J-20.
