Storytelling channels are not automatically inauthentic content. Spending hours on a video doesn’t magically make it 'authentic,' but calling every storytelling channel AI slop is a lazy take. Una really dey trip for my TL lately, but I no blame una. Whether you like it or not, I’ll still do storytelling and I’ll still smash it. Yes, there’s room to explore history or documentary-style niches, but equating storytelling with AI slop no just make sense. And to the one saying Nigerians 'allowed' YouTube to start this inauthentic stuff — that narrative is tired. We don’t gatekeep, problem. We gatekeep, still problem. At the end of the day, creators will create. From my research, the two niches not really facing heavy issues right now are proper true crime and storytelling with human voiceovers paired with AI-generated visuals. But make nobody lie to you — that process fit tear your ACL. It’s intense, time-consuming, and far from “easy content. But if you can venture into those niches now with the right tactics, you go gain traction.
