Lastly, we have Pappochelys, which Hans called one of his favourite fossils. This diaspid reptile's discovery suggests turtles should also be considered diaspids. This critter, described by Hans in 2015, could thus be a stem turtle 🐢 Paper: nature.com/articles/natur… (5/6)

For #FossilFriday, we have a fossil from our editor Andrea Villa. This is GMH Ce IV-4057-1933, holotype of the gecko Geiseleptes delfinoi from the Eocene of Geiseltal, Germany. This species represents the oldest member of the gekkotan family Sphaerodactylidae currently known.
