Congrats to Micah Alpaugh (@HistoryUcm), whose 2022 book, Friends of Freedom: The Rise of Social Movements in the Age of Atlantic Revolutions (@CambPressAssess), was awarded a Pacific Coast Conference on British Studies Book Prize! Alpaugh was a postdoctoral fellow in 2011–2012.

Today! Join us in Union 238 at 2:00 pm for a free film screening of The Politics of Beauty, featuring the story of Former Interior Secretary, Stewart L. Udall and his efforts to cross cultural lines and bring people together for the protection of natural places and resources.

UCM History was well-represented at the Missouri Conference on History! Presentations were on the lives of Civil War Americans from Dr. Cannon, Harry Truman's attention to the Senate after 1950, Dr. Taylor, and MA student Suman Kumar Roy on a walking tour of Dhaka, Bangladesh!

Reminder! Next Tuesday, March 27th we will be having a free film screening of the film The Politics of Beauty. The viewing will be at 2:00 pm in Union 238, and a short talk with the director, John de Graff will follow.

Today is the last day applications are being accepted for the Missouri State Archives Internship! This internship is on campus and can be completed for credit so don't miss out if you are interested in applying!

Dr. Erika Edwards will be giving lectures on campus today. 12:00 pm in Wood 104: "Doing History" talk, and at 3:30 in Wood 100: public lecture, "Hiding in Plain Sight". Dr. Edwards wrote Hiding in Plain Sight: Black Women, the Law, and the Making of a White Argentine Republic.

Reminder students! This Thursday March 23rd is the last day to submit applications for the Missouri State Archives Internship! This internship is on campus and for-credit, and a great hands-on experience for students interested in archival work!
