Beyond the Classroom: As an intern at Vicksburg National Military Park, USM History major Cody Turnbaugh researched the personal lives of the sailors who served aboard the U.S.S. Cairo, a Union ironclad that was sunk during the American Civil War’s Vicksburg Campaign of 1862-63.
