Hooker Chemical turned an old canal in Niagara Falls into a toxic graveyard in the 1940s, dumping 21,000 tons of pesticides, solvents, and dioxins. They sold the poisoned land to the school board for one dollar and hid the warning in fine print nobody read. For years families lived there and kids went to school right on top. Then the heavy rains hit in the late seventies and the ground started bleeding black sludge into basements and yards. Children got cancers and birth defects that had no business hitting them so young. Miscarriages became normal. The company knew every barrel. So did the school board. They denied and fought in court until one mother, Lois Gibbs, forced a federal emergency. Even after the moves the real damage stayed quiet the childhoods quietly poisoned by the cold math that always put profit and paperwork above the kids breathing the air above the dump.

Police stepped up patrols. Armed men formed their own watches after dark. Windows got nailed shut. The local paper ran the stories in heavy type. The police chief eventually said some of it was probably fumes from the war plants and that fear was doing the rest. But by then the damage was already done. For two weeks the dark right outside people’s bedrooms felt occupied. Then the reports stopped as suddenly as they started. No one was ever caught. The town was left to keep living in the same houses. #DarkHistory #ObscureHistory #ForgottenAmerica

In September 1944, Mattoon, Illinois was a quiet railroad town of roughly 18,000. Most of its young men were gone to the war. The ones who stayed worked the plants that kept the fighting going. At night the streets were already quieter than they should have been.

@Historywithhis1 @4gottnHistory You can still identify a tomb as a tomb without a body. Thats the point. You yourself acknowledge they were looted. That doesn't stop them being tombs just because the bodies were taken out

@Historywithhis1 @MouseDestruct @___TheGOOdWitch Right so the music exists without the radio, so i should be able to remember just by having a soul, without the brain. Why can't my soul remember anything when my brain can't?

@MatiasZ02147125 @Historywithhis1 @MouseDestruct @___TheGOOdWitch The fact that the interactions between soul and brain should be detectable trough a brain scan, if there was a soul that hold any consciousness. The sould would have to interact with the brain, we should see this even if we couldn't detect the soul itself

And the fun thing is I don't even disagree with your point that most people in the north especially had nothing to do with the slave trade and shouldn't be included in the conversation and honestly I'm on the side of no one should be blamed for the sins of our great great great grand fathers hell I'm a first generation immigrants so I have even less to do with it My only problem like I told the crazy lady I was originally replying to was the facts I agree with are presented so blatantly biased it's annoying so I called it out, you can have an intelligent argument without turning it into a grift

@Historywithhis1 @unhealthytruth Right, so the northern states didn't own slaves and the women and children didn't own slaves and not even every man in the southern states owned slaves. Is that about right?

But again this is speculation on both ends because we honestly have no clue. Our best tests are just the OUR best tests in this current moment at one point in time telling the worlds leading minds that there are living organisms on your skin and some of them are the reason you get sick would get you laughed out of the room the science and human understanding evolved and we were able to preform better tests and learn more

@Historywithhis1 @MouseDestruct @___TheGOOdWitch Let me ask this then. Can a soul remember things? If yes, how can i loose my memories via brain dammage, if the soul can remember without my brain? Is my soul also affected by the brain dammage? This aplies to every form of consciousness too. There is nothing left for the soul

There's evidence for and against but the main evidence against is we've done every test we can think of and it has came up with no new findings. But there's also studies on people who have their brain severed surgically for one reason or another so that both sides are functioning but functioning independently and the person still retains a sense of self with no new personality which would retain that a higher self cannot be changed by psychical manipulation of the brain mindmatters.ai/2024/08/what-d…

@Historywithhis1 @MouseDestruct @___TheGOOdWitch No, i said that there is evidence against souls. Evidence would be an objectively verifiable fact that points to one conclusion over any other, that is what i gave. I'm not demanding you to do your own research, altough i'll apreciate any fact checking, even if i'm proven wrong

@Historywithhis1 @MouseDestruct @___TheGOOdWitch Every property we have ever atributed to souls, has been proven to be something else, there is nothing left of a soul. Interaction between soul and the brain should be detectable, if there was a soul, but it's not. Also there is not a point in time when you could get a soul

Wouldn't… a Christian also be mentally stunted then? For having the same take that it's real for years on end with no evolution of thought? I mean I'm on your side mostly i think proclaiming in either direction is crazy when there isnt proof either way “I don't know but I believe” is the only way to start any statement about religious beliefs

Lol, lmao even, and you’re an atheist? Atheism is for the brain dead. The greatest philosophers who shaped western thought knew this long before Christianity even existed. Plato blasted atheism as a soul rotting disease born out of greed for pleasure and a corrupted mind. He said any clear eyed person sees the ordered cosmos, like the earth, sun, stars, seasons, and knows it screams intelligent divine governance. Denying this is willful blindness and moral stunting. Without the divine who care about justice, men slide into unchecked vice. Plato actually wanted re education or prison for it funnily enough. Aristotle takes it further. Everything in nature shows purpose and motion toward ends. That chain demands what he called an Unmoved Mover, think of a perfect, eternal divine intelligence as the ultimate cause. Atheism stops at random blind matter like a midwit who can’t follow basic causation. It’s an intellectual worldview. Even Cicero said universal order, beauty, and human consensus all point to the divine. Rejecting it is essentially ignoring what reason itself delivers. The greats saw atheism as a failure to observe and to reason, they thought that with such a view one couldn’t even rise above animal appetites. It’s literally being brain dead, your mind too dull to grasp the evident divine order that makes morality and a coherent universe possible.

@Heavenly_Race_ No one following the bible has a high IQ, you're a fantasist with delusions of grandeur and doubt your IQ is above 90.
