Bottom line: Dems shut the government down mostly because of the American Rescue Plan Act that they passed in 2021 with no Republican votes in House or Senate. It had $1,900,000,000,000.00 in "temporary COVID relief" including Obamacare stipends that are due to expire December 31, 2025. If they passed it and now are going batshit crazy because it's expiring, that makes little sense. If it was that important to them, why not change it when they had the ability to do that without Republican votes? They keep adding things to whine about but that's the bottom line. This time, Republicans said "we have time to negotiate it before it expires" and passed a clean 'keep the government going' package but Dems needed a crisis so they caused one. What a mess.

Last night's Southport shooter. Completely horrible and I hope this guy gets put away for the rest of his life. There were tons of 'red flags' before but not a lot done about it. @mmpadellan A 30-06 is not an assault rifle in anybody's terms. It's a hunting rifle since 1906. That's where the name 30-06 came from. 30 caliber, long range hunting deer, elk, etc. It was weapon of choice in WW1 though..

Whoever shot Charlie Kirk should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And the Republican party has to stop opposing common sense gun reform, especially assault rifles. DOING NOTHING IS NOT WORKING.

The political left attacks on prayer and religion have once again reached a fever pitch. I'm Episcopalian, have stage 4 cancer, and I find prayer quite beneficial to my overall health... mental and physical. Not that prayer will somehow cure me but it helps with attitude and sleeping at night.
