Vance's comment here—the reference is to a racist disproved rumor which Vance knows to be false but is endorsing anyway) is a premium example of bull💩. And I mean that in an academic way it is bull💩 (emoji to avoid tweet suppression) in the Frankfurtian sense of the term.

In the book my @HoardPaul and I are working on we talk about bull💩 as a mechanism we use to protect ourselves from becoming "infected" (eucontaminated) by prophetic Truth.
Where Truth demands that we deconstruct and rebuild our false images of reality, bull💩 affirms them.

And that is why I have hope. That is the disgust theory analysis behind "the GOP is getting really weird and overplaying their hand here". This is why I think VP Harris has a really solid shot of winning in a "referendum on our character as a nation" vote in November.
