@baqashblog @patristicpill Paul says Abraham was justified apart from works. The entire point from Paul is that salvation is by faith and not by works. The entire point of James is that saving faith is shown by doing works, not that works co tribute to your salvation. You deny both.

@Shahid62946 @korrathetaymi What exactly is the twisting? If it was Allah that made it appear that Jesus was crusified while Jesus was not crusified that means Allah caused the followers of Jesus to think Jesus was crusified and thus start christianity.

It’s so sad to see Christians claim that the crucifixion is the most well established event in history and yet we don’t find as much as ONE first hand account to verify it! The Christians KEEP proving the quran right, you follow NOTHING but Conjecture. 🙁

@baqashblog @patristicpill Your interpretation forces you to reject Paul and put him against James. Paul explicitly says Abrahams faith is what made him rightious, not his works. You eithwr have to reject Paul or accept Paul and James are contradicting eachother.

@HoekMichiel @patristicpill He specifically brings up Abraham as an example. Abraham was justified by works, not by faith ALONE. Faith THAT works is what made Abraham righteous. No works, no real faith.

So yes, the church can change their view in other areas because of a development.

Those who hold to Sola Scriptura never make the Bible their authority, but rather their personal interpretation of it—regardless of all the evidence proving their interpretation wrong. It’s nothing more than “Sola My Interpretation”.

That can change tomorrow and you have to say the Holy Spirit guided the church to the approval of gay marriage.

@dumbwaiterwaits @CatholicRambo @MrCasey62 The problem with that argument is that it can be used yo justify anything. Today it is about the death penalty and tomorrow there is an "increased awareness" about marriage and the roman church allows gay marriage, and you can have no objection to it.

An acorn may become an oak without substantial change Doctrine develops, which is why Our Lord established a living, incarnate, church w/authority

I have a copy of it here, but I don’t see any “new views on human dignity.” I’m honestly curious bc my private opinion is different from that of Pope Francis, & I’m not aware of any changes other than the introduction of the word “inadmissible”

No Muslims claim that the previous scriptures are entirely Corrupted. The Qur’an serves as the Quality Control!

@HoekMichiel LOL! The Catechism CAN’T change on faith & morals. The death penalty issue was prudential—not faith & morals. And the faith & morals are objectively defined, so the Catechism isn’t subject to EITHER Catholic’s approval. You have no clue what you’re talking about. We’re done.

@MrCasey62 The point is that if your objection to sola scriptura also undermines romanism than your objection is stupid or you have to leave Rome. 1. The cathecism can change tomorrow so that gives no objective basis. 2. What if 2 roman catholics disagree about what the catachism means?

Whataboutism is for cowards. Only cowards claim, “the fallacy isn’t a fallacy because, um, because, um, because YOU!” You’ve obviously totally missed the point again, Michiel. Catholics can point to one catechism. Catholics can KNOW another Catholic is OBJECTIVELY right or wrong BECAUSE there’s one Catechism. With 2 “Sola Scriptura” Evangelicals, NEITHER has the right to accuse the other of being OBJECTIVELY wrong since BOTH are using “Sola My Interpretation” as their supreme authority.
