Democrat Party resolves to suspend former MP candidate with the name's initial “P.” for 6 months over sexual harassment allegations — but he had already resigned from the party. Party leaders say they acted immediately, set up a probe, and imposed the maximum penalty under party rules, while prioritising protection of the victim. They reaffirm zero tolerance for sexual harassment and vow to follow the legal process and support the affected party. The party didn't reveal the man's name, however. #DemocratParty #Thailand #SexualHarassment

@JimmyBitcoins @HolySmokas Because its still a fantastic company, pays a decent dividend, is secure and given time will come back. In a crazy world like now better to stick with what you have and batton down the hatches for a while. Trading should be long term game.

Fuel Hoarding and Illegal Exports Push Thailand’s Oil Fund from 2.4 Billion Baht Surplus to 47 Billion Baht Deficit, Investigations Reveal Major Irregularities Investigations into fuel hoarding and illegal exports have revealed that these activities caused supply chain irregularities and forced the government to subsidize fuel prices. As a result, the Oil Fuel Fund, which had a positive balance of 2.38 billion baht on February 22, is now about 47 billion baht in deficit as of April 1. Authorities uncovered multiple violations: 1. Depot dispensing reduced: February – 18 million liters; March – 11 million liters. 2. Northern regions daily delivery dropped: from 2 million liters to 1.2 million liters per day. 3. Four depots lacked sufficient reserves despite normal allocations. 4. Maritime fuel transport irregularities: 96 tanker trips to six Surat Thani depots carrying 217 million liters delivered only 160 million liters, leaving 57 million liters missing. 5. Abnormal delays: 20 trips delayed—13 trips 1–11 days (35 million liters affected) and 7 trips 2 days (16 million liters affected), totaling nearly 50 million liters. 6. Illegal cross-border exports: over 40,000 liters near Mae Sot, Tak province. 7. Nationwide inspections: 39 stations and operators checked, 6 showing suspicious activity. 8. Fishing vessel under investigation: “Chok Chon Korn” with 6 crew members. 9. Violations found in multiple provinces: Ang Thong, Mae Sot, Nakhon Sawan, and Surat Thani. The government has ordered end-to-end inspections, from refineries and transport to depots and service stations. DSI handles origin checks and special-case prosecutions, while police and local authorities focus on end-point inspections. Investigations rely on multi-agency data, with Surat Thani serving as a model case for nationwide operations. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated that the government is enforcing the Fuel Shortage Prevention Act, coordinating with the Royal Thai Navy, Customs, Excise, Energy Department, Marine Department, Ministry of Justice, and local administration. Citizens are urged to report suspicious activity. #Thailand #Oil #OilPrice #สงครามตะวันออกกลาง #น้ำมัน #วิกฤตน้ำมัน #กักตุนน้ำมัน

Thai authorities have launched a nationwide investigation after uncovering a 57-million-liter discrepancy in oil shipments, exposing suspected stockpiling, smuggling, and profiteering across the fuel supply chain. The probe, led by the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), centers on transport operations in Surat Thani, where officials found that out of 217 million liters of oil shipped across 96 tanker trips to six depots, only 160 million liters reached their destinations. The missing volume has raised concerns over potential manipulation within the system, including delayed deliveries, diversion of shipments, and possible illegal transfers at sea. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the findings point to coordinated efforts to exploit the ongoing global energy volatility, with some operators allegedly holding shipments offshore to wait for price increases before releasing fuel into the domestic market. Authorities have since escalated the case into a special investigation, mobilizing multiple agencies to trace the missing oil, examine supply chain irregularities, and pursue those responsible. Pathum Thani PAO Plans Fuel Tax Waiver to Offer Discounts for Residents The Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) plans to suspend the 4.45 satang-per-liter fuel tax at all 317 service stations in the province for three months, pending approval from the provincial council and governor. The foregone revenue—normally over 4 million baht per month—would be converted into direct discounts at the pump, with a screening system to ensure only local residents benefit and to prevent hoarding. PAO President Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit "Big Jazz" Thupkrajang said the move aims to ease rising fuel costs for farmers and residents. Officials have met with fuel operators to prepare the program, which could serve as a model for other provinces if successful. Farmers in districts like Nong Suea welcomed the initiative, citing high costs for fuel, fertilizers, and irrigation that affect crop production and livelihoods. #Thailand #PathumThani #สงครามตะวันออกกลาง #ช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ #น้ำมัน #วิกฤตน้ำมัน

#Thailand Get around town to see if Thais are trying to beat the gas price tomorrow, mostly 3 baht gas increase. Yes, they are! My gas e20 increases from 28 baht to 40 baht tomorrow. Got em at PTT while seeing Bangjark pump a km away, long lines before pump entry as well! Most PT pumps are in the provinces, so I notice but Punthai coffee, a branch of PT has random store in Bkk, many Thais also will boycott this brand as well. Was told PT loses 300 million baht a day from their oil ops alone

People's Party Proposes Ending Mandatory Military Conscription The main opposition People’s Party has reiterated its call to abolish mandatory military conscription, outlining detailed proposals to replace the system with volunteer service and improve soldiers’ welfare. Under the party’s plan, administrative conscripts would be reduced, while combat personnel numbers remain unchanged, cutting total recruits from 130,000 to 119,000. The party also proposes accepting at least 30,000 volunteer soldiers annually for four-year terms, with a 3% yearly salary increase and an end-of-service bonus of 120,020 baht. Volunteers would be allowed to commute daily after basic training and could choose their preferred military camp. Additional measures include a 500-baht monthly allowance for soldiers extending service, improved training programs across all branches, and enhanced welfare protections to prevent abuse, establish career paths, and provide professional combat training. The People’s Party emphasized that modern security requires highly skilled professional soldiers with advanced combat and technological capabilities, rather than relying on compulsory conscription. #Thailand #ยกเลิกเกณฑ์ทหาร #เกณฑ์ทหาร

@KHAMCHANH Thailand does not want international powers to mediate as they are in the wrong. And its always nice to have the ability to stir up conflict and have ultranationalists jumping up and down and the military getting budgets and prestige. Like what happened before the election.

A major reason why Thailand and Cambodia can never solve things diplomatically is the difference in how negotiations should be conducted. Cambodia prefers to bring in world powers and third parties for mediation, while Thailand strictly prefers bilateral meetings. Thailand views the involvement of third party mediators reminiscent to the era of Siam’s territories being carved out through international courts dominated by European legal experts. Cambodia views bilateral negotiations as an unfair platform as Thailand is more capable at applying pressure in a 1v1 scenario.

@ThaiEnquirer I think the issue is far less the higher fuel prices and far more the uncertainty of supply. No one wants to set out on a 300km road trip with the uncertainty of not being able to refill your car short of sitting waiting for hours on end.

Soaring Fuel Prices Hit Domestic Tourism, Forcing Delays and Empty Attractions Rising fuel costs are affecting Thailand’s domestic tourism sector, forcing tour operators and local businesses to adjust or halt services. In Phetchabun, transportation costs have increased by nearly 20%, prompting tour companies to raise package prices or delay trips. Self-driving tourists are also reducing travel due to high fuel expenses. Hotels in the province are keeping prices steady despite higher costs, fearing a further drop in tourist spending during the low season. Tourism officials have called for urgent government measures, including the reinstatement of stimulus programs such as the “Khon La Khreung” (Half-Half) co-payment scheme. In Surin, popular attractions like Sarok Krao Lake and Huai Rasai Reservoir have seen a dramatic decline in visitors, even during weekends. Local raft operators and restaurants report income has dropped to less than half of last year’s levels. Businesses are struggling to cover staff wages, food supplies, and rental fees, while rising living costs have forced them to raise prices on meals, further affecting demand. Across both provinces, the combination of high fuel prices and rising costs is creating a ripple effect through the tourism industry, underscoring the urgent need for government support to sustain local economies. March 30 Set for Royal Submission of New Cabinet as DSI Case Sidelines Sudawan Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to submit the 35-member “Anutin 2” cabinet for royal endorsement on March 30, following the completion of qualification checks on all nominees. The vetting process flagged concerns involving Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, who is under investigation by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) over alleged encroachment on public land in Ubon Ratchathani. Sudawan, a party-list MP from the Pheu Thai Party, along with her parents, has been summoned to acknowledge charges linked to the alleged occupation of a public grazing area known as Hat Suan Ya in Nam Yuen district. Authorities allege the land was unlawfully occupied and developed, including the excavation of reservoirs for business use, with more than 16 rai of public and forest land reportedly encroached upon. Following the issue, Pheu Thai replaced Sudawan with Nikorn Soemklang for the post of social development and human security minister, while Wisut Chainarun and Khattiya Sawatdiphol were listed as possible nominees. Anutin is expected to hold final consultations with relevant agencies before proceeding with the formal submission. #Thailand #อนุทิน #ครมอนุทิน #ครมอนุทิน2

#Thailand Sure the power that be, is watching Bhumjaithai’s performance as govt on gasoline crisis carefully, another political actor will leave prison soon, a new govt coalition could not be dismissed since there are multiple court cases against current govt, plus when BJT got so big w/ the control of the senate, it could threaten balance of power as it exists!
