These are Bobwhite Quail eggs that Connemara recently donated to @HolifieldSLC. They’ve been incubating these eggs for a few weeks and today we received word that some have hatched! Students in @Plano_Schools were able to watch the hatching live on the Holifield Critter Cam.

@CentennialPISD asks: Do these birds hibernate? No. There are a few select species of birds like the Common Poorwill that have been known to go into a short hibernation (called "torpor"). While the Poorwill looks a bit like an owl, it is not considered a raptor. #CampOnCampus
