During Art lessons this half term, class 3 (year 2) have been focusing on abstract art and expressive art. They have spent some time focusing on artists such as Charlie French and Van Gough, looking at the types of ways they create texture on their paintings.
During British Science week, our Yr 6 and 7 took part in an STEM roadshow called The Material World, delivered by education engagement specialists hi-impact and Altru Drama, sponsored by BAE Systems. Our Yr 8 students and science club members took part in a boat race challenge.
Another fabulous Forest School afternoon with Fenn's Den. This week it was Class 7 (Year 4) who spent the afternoon completing a range of activities (including relaxing in a hammock!). #holytrinitystars
Lots of #BritishScienceWeek experiments have been taking place in the primary this week. Year 4 looked at the question: Will plants grow on the Moon? Year 2 looked at the question: How does changing the amount of vinegar affect the height of the eruption in a baking soda volcano?
Reception have enjoyed their Science this week. They have pretended to be The Big Bad Wolf and test what things they can blow down, what liquids the Gingerbread Man would crumble in and which materials the Billy Goats Gruff could use as a boat to get across the river!
Congratulations to one of our Year 5 pupils who took part in the Yorkshire Tumbling Championships at the weekend. She placed 1st for her age category meaning she is now going to represent Yorkshire in the English Championships. We are all so proud of you! A great achievement!
Our Year 4 art club have been researching the work of Barnsley artist Adam Briscoe. They have created an artist page finding facts and working in his style as part of their Arts Award journey. #holytrinitystars
This week, in science club, our students conducted a number of chemical reactions to produce some lovely gifts for Mother's day. We cannot give too much information as we do not want to reveal the surprises before Sunday! #holytrinitystars
For British Science Week, Class 1 (Year 1) investigated which liquid makes the best skittle rainbow. We tested milk, white vinegar, cold water and hot water and timed how long it took for the colours to run using a stopwatch. #holytrinitystars

Class 8 (Year 4) took part in a conscience alley in RE this afternoon. The teaching assistant pretended to be Judas. One half of the class had to persuade Judas to betray Jesus. The other half of the class had to persuade Judas not to. Class 8 thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Our Year 6s are having a fabulous time on their residential! They have been abseiling, performing archery, building dens and lots more.#holytrinitystars

Year 1 (Class 1) have been making birds in art. The children have experimented with colour mixing to paint the bodies and manipulating paper by folding, crumpling and tearing to make the wings. #holytrinitystars
