Today could see councillors in North Lanarkshire approve the closure of 39 council-run venues. Swimming pools & leisure centres, libraries & community centres could be axed as part of efforts to save £4.7m. The council say they've done everything possible to protect services, but are being forced to make tough decisions due to insufficient funding from the Scottish Government. The below is a list of the Active NL facilities on the chopping block.

In what world is closing leisure facilities a good thing? Communities adversely impacted from leisure and recreation facilities because of mismanagement. Hopefully this is reconsidered and stopped. Communities need these facilities for mental and physical wellbeing!
